Typhoon Lagoon Cabana worth it?

Is it really $200-$250 to get something you can get for free all day long? I never looked into the pricing because I never had interest in it. I figured it may be $50-$75, but I had no clue it was THAT much. Wow.
No kidding right? Jeez! I too wouldnt dish out more than $50. Think of all the things you could buy with that amount of money.
That's an insane amount of money. If I was guessing I would've said $50 tops. Good lord
Good lord is right!!!!! There's no way on gods green earth would I spend that amount of money for a reserved shaded area. Thats ridiculous in my humble opinion! Sorry but I honestly find this an insane amount of money to spend on a cabana. As others have said, get there early and reserve an umbrella and use that money towards something else. But hey, its your choice OP. Have fun either way! :)

anyone have pics of the cabana? vs just the table and chairs?
I found this online:

We are renting one in November, in Typhoon Lagoon. Our cost was significantly cheaper at 159.00, we are finding it worth it :) It's a new experience, more privacy, and a mug. However, my understanding is lunch is not included, but they will bring you what you want for lunch :) and there is a locker in the cabana, towels, and you get a free mug for each person :) Have fun!

I did the umbrella rental a few years ago. It was just 2 of us so it worked ok. You get 2 lounges & 2 upright sand chairs with a teeny table under the umbrella. We had to maneuver the chairs around to "follow" the shade. We were in the wave pool & lazy river most of the day. The table was really too small to eat from, we ate near the place we bought our lunch at.

We did get towels & a locker included. It was ok for 2 of us but there really isn't a lot of room under that umbrella. It might work for a family if you don't mind being a little crowded, having to move chairs around as the day goes on & only 1 or 2 will be there at a time. If we went back with our family, I would pick the cabanas over the umbrella anytime.

Thanks so much. I'm going to keep the cabana. We try to do some kind of new "experience" every time we go, so I think this will be it!

We rented one the last time we went, in August 2014. I needed to have a shady area, so the cost was worth it to guarantee that we would have shade. There were 5 of us, so the umbrellas weren't an option. We LOVED IT! It was one of our favorite experiences so far. Definitely a luxury, but we all had a great time. We really enjoyed our server and the convenience of having everything brought to us. Having the locker in the cabana was very convenient, too. We are going to TL again this November, but I think we're going to try the early arrival method this time. Have a great time!

We rented one this past August for our party of 6. We loved it! It was great to have our own, comfortable spot in the August heat. We were with my in-laws (and FIL wasn't feeling great at the time) so it was to have nice spot for them to relax. The amenities and service were great. We made a day out of it. I would definitely do it again as a splurge.

That being said, if you don't want to spend that much money, the umbrellas are a nice option for a party of 4. They're in the same area as the cabanas and offer a nice shaded area. It won't be as comfortable, but should be fine if you don't plan on being there much (or in the park for only a few hours). Good luck!

We have rented cabanas at lots of water parks but not Disney. We have always found it well worth the money. But I spend a lot of time out of the water, reading and relaxing. Usually the drinks, snacks, extra comfortable seating, privacy, service, and safe make it worth it for us.

Thanks everyone!! I'm going to keep it. We plan to be there all day. I will be relaxing a lot and the weather isn't looking great, maybe we'll have to wait out some rain

We rented one, split it with another couple. Would we do it again?? You bet we would!

We rented one for the first time just a few weeks back. The cost is high as folks have posted but I will say this, I loved it and for sure will do it again. I would not do it during peak season as the price goes up to 348 ( not sure ) but off peak it was 248. No discounts given. They give all that have pay admission a mug. Meaning we had a two year old that did not have to pay for admission and they did not get a mug, no big deal. We had 5 adults all got mugs. We also had a ice chest full of bottle water so at $3 each and the mugs that's half the cost. But we would not buy either if we had been paying out for it. They also gave us each a towel, think they gave us more but not sure. Our server also checked on us all day long every 20 minutes. She was awesome. So ask for Nancy. It's really like anything else at Disney. If you find the value then use it. If not then don't. By the way the locker is not water proof if it should rain. It's was great to have a nice area in the shade for the little ones to play in the sand. Gave me a great location to sit and relax. A central point for everyone to go ride and meet back up. You do pay for your meals but the server will pick them up for you along with any drinks. I can't wait to do it again.

We rented the ones at Blizzard Beach in 2013. We were two families of four, but they bent the rules for us. There were six lounge chairs and a big cooler that they kept refilling. The service was awesome. Where it was split between two families it was totally worth it. I spent the day in the Cabana reading and the kids were in the water the whole time. Super fun for everyone.

Anyone with a recent experience know the details about maximum number of people for a TL cabana?

Older information I've been able to dig up says it was for 6 and that you could add additional guests (up to 8?) for $25 each. Any idea if that's still the case?
