Can you please share your experience with renting a cabana (beach shack or whatever they call it) and the 2 lounge chairs and the umbrella? Is it worth it? We have two families (8 people total) would like a home base and I would like our chairs near each other and hopefully an umbrella for some shade.... is it that hard to find on our own? I also do not ride many slides and just want to lay in the sun most of the day while the kids and hubby go off and play! Let me know what you think... also we will be there from 10-2 probably... I should add we will be there April 17 and 19th!

We normally go the first of June and have never had a problem getting chairs for our family of four. We have never rented a cabaña, but I was thinking most of those are in the shade, so if you are going to want to lay in the sun that might not work. Also, they are expensive!

If you get there early, you should be able to get good locations.
I've been part of a group that has had a private cabana but not at Disney. It's nice but it's not cheap. You tend to order more drinks and food too as they're always coming around for orders. So the costs add up.

If you can afford it it's absolutely worth it as a home base. We did it with a family of four and it was nice to not have to walk around the park trying to find 4 seats together. The cabanas have their own locker (they're jusr adequate for the size - think one locker "cube" on a ride.) plus we had a dedicated concierge to get our food, treats and we also got refillable mugs.

The one we got at TL also had a sunny sand area in front that you could use, so you can be in the shade or sun, but still in the roped off area of the cabana. Loved it!! Note that a cabana is seating for 6 in a roped off area with locker, refill mugs, water towels, and service. The two chairs and an umbrella you can rent are a totally different thing and different price point. No amenities with those other than guarenteed space in chairs and umbrella. We rented the full cabana with our family of 6 and it was awesome. Well worth it.

Thanks! I was wondering if they had a spot in the sun. I may just end of reserving the chairs so I don't have to scrounge for chairs all day:-)

Sounds great. Thinking of renting one at TL and then maybe the umbrella at BB

Never rented a cabana, but we did rent an umbrella at TL last trip and it was nice to have. Hardly any others were rented, so we had a very quiet and secluded home base. We were right next to an entrance to the lazy river, which was great since this is what we do the most. We didn't have to do the mad dash for the best beach chairs first thing in the morning, and we didn't have our neighbors in our laps all afternoon.

I think the cabana is TL is the best part of every Disney trip! We've rented one at BB, and it's a big umbrella, while it's a more solid structure at TL. The service is similar, but the experience is much better at TL. The cabana provides some protection from the storm that's bound to come through every day. You can request the one you want, though it's not guaranteed. Cabana #9 is nice because it overlooks the wave pool, but there is a random rental umbrella right in front, which is kind of weird. I request cabana #8, because I like the location, and it's a little more leeward if it gets windy.

Any idea if this is by the children area? Traveling with a 3 year old! Many thanks
