Hi everyone,

I apologize if this topic has been discussed before...

What is the difference between type I and type II CF cards? I know the type II cards are thicker, but what else? I keep seeing great prices advertised, but often they are for type I cards. Any opinions on microdrives? (which is actually what I have been using).

Thanks!

Type II is generally (but not always) a microdrive. Type I is much more common.
Microdrives are more fragile than solid-state cards but are still pretty durable. I have a 5+ year old microdrive (1 GB) that I just used and it still works fine, but if I had a choice I would go with solid-state.

Thanks Bob! I didn't realize that type II = microdrive. I thought it was a differernt type of solid state card.
