How do I tye dye the mickey mouse head?

And when it says to trace with a pencil lightly, do it lightly. On my shirts, the pencil marks wouldn't come out. What I ended up doing was outlining the Mickey heads with gold fabric paint to cover the lines up. I figured the gold would fit right in with the 50th celebration.
