Two Tickets Linked in MDE...How Do I Use Only One??

I bought a DVC Gold AP back in December when they offered the 13-month promo and I planned to activate/use it this October. Now, I will be traveling with a friend who is eligible for the Military Salute Ticket so she is going to buy a pass for me. I plan to link that one so that we can make FP+ at 60 days and I know we will have to activate it in person at the park. Two questions...one, do we activate it at the ticket window or guest services? Two, how do I make sure that they use the PH ticket and NOT my AP? Is there a way that I can have them "unlink" my AP? I have the green "voucher" in my safe here at home so I assume I could just re-link it after my trip, right?

An AP must be activated at either guest services or a ticket window to actually enter the park (especially a gold AP as you have to show you are eligible to activate it). So it cannot be accidentally used when you enter the park if you haven't activated it.

That's what I thought...so all I should have to do is go with my friend to the ticket window (or is it guest services?) and have her show her military ID to activate our park hoppers?
