Two things I'm giving up

Well, at least for the next two days! I've been back on Atkins, after a cruise break, for ten days now. The scale has not budged one bit. In fact, I think this morning was up a half pound. I want to weigh in Friday morning for the Valentine's challenge, and here's two things I'm not going to have, to see if it helps:

No wine with dinner (sob). I usually have a small glass, and boy do I look forward to it. But it might be why I'm stalled.

Three days ago, I bought a box of lo-carb Klondike bars at Costco. My DSIL told me about these. They are so, so good. I've had one a day for three days now. They have 9 grams of carbs, with 5 net grams. So, skipping those for two days.

This is an experiment, this is only an experiment. Even a one pound loss will convince me, and I'll keep it up.
 
I bought those Klondike bars for my sister and my son and BOY do they love them! I have to wait till I'm off induction to indulge but they were on sale this week, only $2.87 at Kroger.

How savvy of you to acknowledge the things that may make you stall. It takes alot to admit it!

Tracy, Atkins doesn't say "no wine with dinner". But apparently my body says so. I may have to cut down to once a week, but then I'll have to drink the whole bottle! Diana
 

Diana, good luck with your experiment! We'll be waiting to hear if it helped. :D I'm not sure if I want it to work or not - I'm hoping there's something else, like giving up broccoli :crazy: , that will allow you to lose more! :p
 
If you invite me over, we can share, then it would only be half a bottle! :teeth: Always wanting to be helpful to my WISH pals!

I have been stalled fro a awhile and even gained a pund or two. What I have done this week, is pumped up the excercise. AND BOY! it has worked big time. making sure I get to the gym and doing an extra WATP tape each day.I know its time consuming but thankfully I have the time. Anyway mine too was an experiment and it has defintely worked.

Mmm, I love Klondike bars and had no idea they had low carb ones!! Yummy!! :)
 
OK, here's what happened: I lost one pound. As stated, I am happy with that. I have to think of it as one pound in two days, rather than one pound in 12 days, to be happy about it though. I exercised too. So, I will avoid alcohol and alcohol sugars most of the time, and hope that eventually I will be able to have them on weekends without gaining weight. Diana
 
What a great experiment and thanks for posting the results. I'm kind of sorry that it worked (tough to give up that wine!) but am happy that you lost a pound.
