Two studios vs 2-bedroom villa: pros and cons ?

To save points, would you consider a one bedroom instead of a two bedroom?

We aren’t huge fans of studios, unless that’s all that’s available. My family prefers two bedroom over one bedroom, whenever our points allow.
We enjoy spending time together, eating breakfast in the Villa, hanging out and relaxing at night before bed. We use the washer/dryer almost every day.

If studios is all you can get, any time at WDW, is better than being at home 😆

Enjoy whatever you book!

I should have mentioned the resorts we are looking at are:

BLT (lake view)
polynesian (studios only)
Riviera (suspect preferred will be only ones available)
Poly has connecting studios. We did that with family, and it worked well. I used the LaundryView app during our last stay and had 0 issues. In the mornings, the laundry room was empty. I liked that it texted me when my laundry was done. I'm all about saving the points—plus, I love the spacious Poly rooms.

Thought about it.

The BLT 1-bedroom seemed appealing because it hard the extra bathroom, but I think one of my adult kids would need to sleep in the sleeper chair and the other two on the sofa.
Riviera 1-bedroom has the two Murphy beds which would be a , but having just the one bathroom would be an issue.
The renovated Boulder Ridge 1-bedroom villas don't seem to have a fixed place for the 5th guest to sleep (unless you count the chaise part of the living room couch) and still just the one bathroom.
First world issues!

Was the laundry room in the same building as the studios? If not, was it very far?

Also, what areas are there in the Poly where we could just chill (as a family) without necessarily buying food or drinks? We're not opposed to hanging out in a resort lounge or bar but two of my kids will be only 20 so not able to drink legally.

5 grown people in a 1 BR would be enough to make this disney nut not go himself! No way!

I agree with you. Just thinking of one bedrooms to save points.

We love two bedrooms to spread out, and BLT has three bathrooms.

I do like the idea of two studios at Poly. I haven’t done it, but hear the request to have connecting studios is usually honored.

Good luck with your decision!

My vote would definitely be for a 2 bedroom.

If you really want to save points though, I recommend a 2 bedroom at OKW over 2 studios at the Pricer resorts. If the location is not ideal for you, then I guess go for the 2 studios. Having a living room for some down time and the kitchen and W/D for me is the one of the main reasons we bought into DVC.

I've been debating the exact same dilemma. We stayed in a 2 bedroom at AKL last year and my H and I are early risers. Our adult Ds very much not so!

It was awkward going into the kitchen/lounge area to make coffee/breakfast with one of our Ds asleep on the sofa bed.

It's made me seriously consider the 2 studio option. But then no proper cups/ bowls/cutlery for a nice breakfast in those!

Oh, but you and your H could switch to the pull out.....pirate:

We just stayed in a two bedroom at Riviera and it was FANTASTIC! We are going to be so spoiled going forward. We usually do a studio or a one bedroom.

We recently had similar discussion for a large family trip (4 2BR or 8 studios). Were comparing 2BR BLT vs 2 studios at PVB.

In the end, one family opted for a 2BR at BLT. 4 children (3 boys) and 3 adults. They didn't want to risk not being connected, plus the living room space gives them more room.
The rest of the family opted for PVB studios.

BLT 2BR is great for the additional bathroom and the large window in the living room area. We always ask for even numbered room (outer part of the C) because the rooms are slightly larger.

In our case, summer trip so the Poly pool wins over the BLT/CR pools.

We haven't stayed at RIV, so no opinion on resort or rooms there. We have thought about staying there because we like the idea of no bus needed for Epcot or DHS.

What were the experiences of those staying the PVB studios? Specifically, as there are less places to sit/chill in the room (beyond sitting on the bed), were there other parts of the resort to just hang out?
