Two Stops at Castaway Cay?

While they are rare, I've seen a few cruise itineraries which have two stops at Castaway Cay. One which I'm considering has them back to back...does the ship just stay docked? Can you stay on Castaway till very late in the evening? I've never been on a cruise where the ship wasn't moving at night, just not sure what the protocol is for something like that.

Thank you,

We are going on a double dip cruise as well, and the CC stays are back to back so I'm following the replies here :).

No, the ship will most likely pull out. There is no "night life" on the island, except for the bugs. Many of the employees (locals) go home by boat to a nearby island. And the DCL CMs who are stationed on the island have covered/protected walkways from their living quarters to the dining hall, because of the really bad bug problem there at night.

We did a five night double dip back in 2010. I don't remember the exact itinerary, but I know we didn't stay docked overnight. I think we went something like:
Port Canaveral,
CC,
Nassau,
Day at Sea,
CC
then back to PC

I believe there are also international laws that prohibit a civilian ship to be docked overnight unless it's for maintenance, repairs, etc. Don't quote me on that, something I overheard.

They stay docked in San Francisco overnight.

Thanks for the posts...this Itinerary is quite unique it looks like this:

Port Canaveral
Nassau
CC
CC
Port Canaveral

So the consensus is that it will leave Castaway at (Normal time?) and sail around until docking again the next day?

They stay docked with passengers in it? Not trying to argue here, since as I said it was something I overheard.

Cruise ships can (and do) port overnight in some ports. Guests onboard can come and go, just like a "regular" hotel on land.

It depends on what each particular cruiseline has set up with the port as part of the itinerary for any particular cruise. Overnight stops cost much more in port fees than just a day stop.

Oh thanks for the clarification. Now trying to delete that other erroneous bit from my nogging it's gonna be the annoying part.

The do leave the island and do a big overnight circle and redock in the morning. There are a few places where ships do stay docked, Baltic, San Francisco, it really depends on the port ad how the cruise line has planned their visit. If the port does not have 24 hour immigration you are not going to stay overnight.
