Two Rideshare Questions....

I'm sure the answers to both of these questions are here somewhere but I can't find it.

1. Can we rideshare to Riviera midday on a Saturday to look around and take the Skyliner to Epcot? I know there's tons of conversations about using a rideshare to a resort as a workaround for getting to a park early but I can't find whether there are restrictions all day about being dropped off at a resort where you are not staying.

1a. If we can't get dropped off at Riviera proper, is there somewhere close to get dropped off and walk in.....like Speedway works for HS?

2. I read somewhere that some rideshares were not allowing passengers in the front seat. I have only done a rideshare a handful of times and don't really recall the process for requesting one. Does it ask for the number of passengers when I request it? If the driver has a small sedan where we would have to ride three in the back and one in the front, would that be something we would need to consider? I just can't recall how it works. It's been a while.

Generally speaking, rideshare can go anywhere the normal driving public can go. So at some resorts, if there are areas where traffic is restricted, rideshare may or may not be able to enter. I'm not familiar with Riviera, so I can't answer that particular question.

Both Uber and Lyft have changed their capacity limits and instituted other restrictions because of Covid. According to both company's policies, passengers are not allowed to ride in the front seat, and maximum capacity is 3 for Uber X or regular Lyft, and 5 for XL on both platforms. In addition, all riders must wear masks.

AFIK, neither platform specifically ask how many riders you have, but the max capacities are shown in the app during the ride ordering process. If you have 4 riders and order X, or 6 and order XL, the driver is allowed to cancel the ride using "Too many riders" as a reason. In that case, you get charged a cancellation fee and have to reorder the proper category of ride. The same is true of not wearing a mask -- driver cancels, and you pay a cancellation fee.

Now...those are the rules. What individual drivers actually do may vary from that. My suggestion is if you have 4 people and want to order X, call the driver as soon as they accept your ride and ask if it is okay. If they say no, cancel the ride yourself and you will not be charged.
