Two resort reservations, same dates?

Is it possible/permissible to hold reservations at two different resorts for the same dates?

It is! We've had them before for our family and a family traveling with us, both under my husband's name. So I can't see why not.

It might be frowned upon as far as holding that room from another person being able to book it, but technically it's possible.

I guess so because I have two resort reservations right now with dates that overlap. Only recently was I able to book a few nights at the Poly and I have yet to contact my TA to have her shorten our package that I currently have booked with her. I haven't actually added the Poly part of our trip to MDE yet. Maybe when I do, I'll encounter problems, I don't know.

Yes think of a family where one person handles the logistics for a family group or maybe a wedding.

It would be nice if you could manage to get around to settling on your specific dates to free up space for other guests as rooms are in short supply. For @disny_luvr you have 30 days from when you boked to transfer your new reservation to your TA if you want them to receive a commission.

Here is the link to download a PDF to the transfer to your TA:

Oh yes, I will email my TA tomorrow. I just booked the Poly on Friday night. I've been checking several times each day for the last few weeks for a room to open at the Poly and I finally had success!

I thought so but recently when I called (I would have done originally but the three hour wait was unmanageable at the time) to set it straight that while I was listed as the room booker on our two rooms that my sister would be the adult in the room at the second booking at POP, the CM said that they would have dropped one of my ressies if I hadn't called because I couldn't be the lead on two bookings. I didn't think that to be the case, I just wanted to help make the need for connecting or close rooms more clear but that's what she said.

They might have noticed closer to the date when they assigned rooms but I have never had an overlapping reservation cancelled, and I’ve held them frequently. They have never been for the same resort though. I am always debating over what I can justify to budget for my next trip! I never link to MDE though because that is a trigger.

Yes this will set any cancellations in motion. Do not link until you finalize decisions. But you will need to link before you can make park reservations so never delay too long in decision making.

We have never been able to have multi rooms for the same dates without having different people as the lead, including this upcoming trip for three.
surprised to see people posting yes

No the CM was simply wrong or there was a misunderstanding in your discussion.

I had reservations for the same days with the same travelers. I canceled one of them a week later since we were pretty sure we want the other hotel.

I had 2 reservations for the same date. I called to have them apply the AP discount (wasn't active yet) and the first thing he said was I couldn't have 2 reservations for the same date. I've done it many times in the past and this is the first time someone said something.

Surely it would be dangerous for Disney to cancel a reservation due to them thinking the same person held two reservations. After all, it’s perfectly possible that a father and a son (for example) could have the same name, same address, and each could have their own room reservation for a big family trip.

I would think in that case they would have their own mde accounts and have their rooms linked accordingly. That said, I doubt they would just start canceling rooms all willy nilly. When I called, they said I could only have 1 room and they would cancel the one I didn't want. I'm sure if I didn't call no one would have even caught it.
