Two Reservations - Same Time

I have one of those weird families that can't decide at which resort they want to stay, and on what day they want to leave. Since we don't want to risk availability issues until we decide, can I book two room only reservations for time periods that overlap a few days, as long as I'm willing to pay both deposits? Will my MDE let me enter both overlapping reservations, so that I can book ADRs at 180 days before arrival? And, can I still cancel just a few weeks ahead of time?

I did. Originally we weren't sure who all was coming or where we were staying so I booked a length of trip, room only at one resort. Later we have it tentatively narrowed down to who is coming and DD booked rooms for us at SOG. However we can't stay there until she arrives. Some of us are arriving before DD so I booked another resort using the room only Holiday discount for two nights. Both resorts overlap days but I'm nervous to cancel the first room until I reserve FP for all the days we will be there, not just the days on the second reservation.

Yep. Sure will. I do it all the time, have it right now actually, because I can't decide where to stay for my birthday in 2 weeks
MDE even lets you book and stay in 2 rooms. I did it last Thanksgiving

I currently have a reservation for 9/5-9/7 standard room at ASSports, 9/7-9/12 in a preferred room at ASSports, and a reservation for 9/5-9/12 for a standard room at ASSorts. I've paid the deposits for all of them. No problem. Tonight I'm going to cancel the two shorter reservations now that I was able to grab one room for the entire length of my stay.

I can't imagine that it will be an issue for you.
