wondering if anyone has done this before to take advantage of two discounts...
We booked the spring promo from 6/10-6/18 with the promo rate for the first 5 nights.

If I cancel the last few nights and book under the summer promo, we can save about $200...

Has anyone done this? What would be the likelihood of remaining in the same room? Packing everything up in the middle of the trip just doesn't sound fun!

We have done this quite a few times. We have always been told that moving was a possibility but we never had to move. It was also noted on each reservation, ( I think it was called linking the reservations but I don't remember)

Well worth the savings. Have a great time.

We do it all the time BUT we only do room only reservations (no DDP and no tix through Disney). If you are planning on doing the DDP than this complicates matters greatly...

If you ask CRO to link the 2 reservations it is unlikely that you will have to move rooms. I would also mention it at check in so the room assignors know what is going on. You will need to re-check in and get new room keys on the first day of the new reservations.

We are planning on doing the dining plan and getting tickets, but wouldn't we just do one ddp for the first reservation and the rest of the nights on the second?

We were in the same boat. We are going 6/8 through 6/17. The problem with the dining plan is you have to purchase tickets unless you are an AP holder. So you would have to purchase the expensive 1 day ticket with the second pkg to keep the dining plan.

I ended up keeping 6/8 - 6/15 as my package. It has the dining plan and has tickets for our entire stay. The dining plan is good through midnight of the day you checkout, so for us it is good through midnight on the 15th (we have the spring discount code on this one). Then I added a second reservation room only for 6/15 - 6/17 (this one has the summer discount). The CM linked them together. She said we have the possiblity we might have to change rooms, but that they try their best to not make you. We will have to pay out of pocket for our meals on 6/16 - 6/17.

Hope that helps!

Stephanie

No, to get the DDP for the entire trip you would need to book separate tickets for the second reservation as well.
