Two Quick FP+ Questions?

Good morning all,

I know about the Mesaboy thread, and I have read through the initial posts, but I have two quick questions I was hoping you could answer. Perhaps I missed it in that thread.

1. I know you can make FP+ reservations at the 60 day prior to check-in mark, and I've heard that it starts at midnight on the day you are eligible. So if I am checking into POFQ on 1.17.16, my day would be 11.18.15? In other words, if I wanted to stay up until midnight on the evening of November 17th, that would be when I could make my picks? Is there anywhere on the MDE app or website that tells you specifically which day it is to confirm my caluclations?

2. I have read where people write about "practicing" making their FP+ reservations to get used to the system/process - can you get into the system early to practice? What are they talking about?

Any pointers would be appreciated. Thanks.

If you have a resort reservation separate from your tickets, you can pratice making FP reservations. It does not work with packages.

Your MDE account shows when your window opens.There's should be a notice that you make your FP reservations.

The reservation time is based on Eastern time. Adjust as necessary.

Yes, at 12:00:01 am you can start making FP+. I'm in California, so it meant that I got to start at 9 pm my time, the night before my 60 day mark.

I check Kenny the pirate's site - crowd calendar - at the bottom it tells you when your 180 day, 60 day and 30 day date is (look for your check in date for that info). Then yes, stay up until midnight (eastern time) on the night before and you can make your FP+ at that point. Some people have reported the window opening a bit early but I have never gotten lucky in that regard!
