I read on another web site that preferred seating for Fantasmic now offers a dessert buffet instead of the box of desserts they used to give out. Has anyone been to it recently? I want to try this on the upcoming trip b/c lasy summer we could only see part of it considering the unruly crowds. My DD2 really wanted to see it,especially the riverboat ride at end , but could not get a good view with all the people cutting in front of us, etc.So here we are "me, DBF and DD running alongside the boat through the crowds so that my DD could wave back to Mickey. She is definitely her mother's daughter, She loves MIckey as much as I do!!!:lovestruc

Also, if you get the voucher for free character meal through Costco, can you use it for the Barbeque celebration? I have not received my package yet. Thanks in Advance, Dissers Rock!!

It's the other way around; the buffet is what they USED to do. Now they do the dessert/snack boxes. They're very generous. It's expensive (last I checked, still $49 for kids and $59 for adults) but we found it worth it, to get a seat without being pressed by crowds all around, have a CM bring us snacks and unlimited hot chocolate or soft drinks, and also stay in our seats for a great view of the fireworks after the 9 p.m. show.

Here's a thread from quite awhile ago, with pictures of the snack boxes, pictures showing you where they seat you, and LOTS of differing opinions on whether or not it's worth it. Hope that helps! http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1815941&page=4

About the Barbeque-- not sure! I'd call up Costco Travel to ask about that. I found their Disney travel agents to be very helpful when we booked through them. :goodvibes

It's the other way around, Fantasmic! Priority Seating got rid of the Dessert Buffet in favour of the Dessert Box, this occured when they relocated from the former The Disney Gallery balcony to along the riverfront.

Please note that Fantasmic! is currently down for refurbishment and will return to Disneyland Park this summer.

While the Celebration Roundup and Barbecue at Big Thunder Ranch does feature characters from Disney/Pixar's Toy Story 2 as part of the ambient entertainment, it is not considered by the Disneyland Resort to be a Character Meal.

Hidden Disney Trivia Fact of the Day: Costco outsources their Disney Vacation Planning Services to Disney. The Costco Travel Agents you call regarding Disney Vacations are the same Disney Cast Members you would get if you called the Walt Disney Travel Company, just using a different greeting.
