Two questions for West Coast Cruisers!

We're leaving on the July 17th cruise, so if anyone can help with these questions, I'd appreciate it.
Has anyone taken the Disney transfers from LAX to the port on the day of the cruise? If so, what time do they pick you up? Any other options for transportation that you'd suggest?

Has anyone done the Santa Maria sail and snorkel in Cabo? What did you think?

After our experience the last two days, I'd suggest getting to Los Angeles the day BEFORE the cruise, even if you have to transport your own luggage. We just left today on the 6/25 cruise to Mexico and we flew down yesterday. We nearly didn't make it because someone "breached security" in Seattle (where we flew from) and got the airport closed down for a couple hours. It was long enough to delay or cancel a few flights and we came into L.A. 5 hours later than planned.

I mentioned that we had a cruise the next day to one of the airline reps and he told me that many people try to fly in the day of various cruises and miss it because of delayed connections (or "security breaches"?) If we had been coming in Saturday, we could have missed the boat--literally. As it was, we spent the night in a hotel in the area (free shuttle from the airport) and took a cab to the dock (where helpful stevedores were waiting to take our luggage out of the trunk and get it onto the ship for us.)
