two questions for disney lovers

we are headed to disney (ak resort) for our first time with our 2 and 6 year old daughters next week and I have two questions. first, I got a sitter in our room for the super bowl ( we are from boston, what can I say) and I wanted to know a bit more about how those things work. Has anyone ever used them and what did they think. Maybe some things to ask/request when they arrive? I assume disney has their bases covered but I want to be sure.
Next thing is our room. I originally booked a savannah room but then read everywhere that since we were travelling off season to book a cheaper room and ask for a complimentary upgrade when we arrive. I did this but now I am freaking a bit that we won't be able to get one. But are the animals even out when it is chilly?

I can't answer questions about babysitting.

But if it would make or break your trip to have a savannah room, you should book one or be prepared to pay the difference at checkin if you don't get an upgrade and want to change to one. Upgrades are possible but are not always available.
