Two questions about booking with combined cash and points

If a reservation is booked with half the nights using points and the other nights cash do I have to pay it all at the time of booking or can I pay it over time like a regular WDW resort reservation?

Also - if I book say 7 nights using my points but then decide I'd rather pay cash for 2 of the nights can I just call MS and make that change without my whole res. being affected?

P.s. Thanks to everyone for all your help and advice!! I am suffering from a severe case of 7-month-anxiety !

Member Cash reservations require a 1 night deposit be paid when the reservation is confirmed. Not sure when the balance is due.

I night deposit is due at booking then balance is due at check out. We do this at HH.
