Are there any options for two Queen beds while renting points for a Studio in any of the resorts?

Beach Club Villas has an option for two queens in the second bedroom. Some of there two bedrooms has two queens in the second bedroom and some of the two bedrooms has a queen and a queen sleeper sofa in the second bedroom. I would make sure you let the owner who you are renting points from know that you want the option with two queens in the second bedroom.

Old Key West has two queens in the studios.

As far as BCV 2 bedroom is there a king in the first Bedroom and either two queens or one queen and a queen sleeper in the second bedroom? Are both these options available through renting points through DVC? if so that may be the best option for our group.

Renting a 2 bdrm makes your cost almost triple, OKW is the only "studio" with 2 queens.

Yes, there are two options.

Two-Bedroom Vacation Home (1075 sq.ft.)
Features a master suite with king-size bed; a living room with queen size sleeper sofa and a separate bedroom with either; a. two queen-size beds or b. a queen size bed, double-size sleeper sofa, and a pull-down bunk size bed.

Please note: Two-Bedroom Vacation Homes may consist of a connecting One-Bedroom Vacation Home and Studio combination.

Floor plans and furnishings are subject to change. Actual room size may vary depending on room location.

We are a group of one adult with 3 children 13, 11, &9. One adult with 2 children 8 & 10 and her mom so actually the two bedroom as long as it has 3 queen size beds or larger will be the most comfortable for our group. Our children also have a preference in pools. Since we will be splitting the cost it would not be too bad.

This is the layout I found as well. I was worried since this lay out seems to only have the two beds and two sofa beds. Having the option of the two queens would be much better for our group. Is both options require the same amount of points? As long as we rent 11 months out would we have a good chance getting the option with the two queens beds in the second bedroom?

DVC requires the same number of points for dedicated 2-bedroom units as for 2-bedroom lockoffs. The dedicated 2-bedroom units tend to book up faster. Not all DVC resorts have dedicated 2-bedroom units (BWV, AKV-Jambo). OKW has 2Q in the 2nd bedroom of all 2-bedroom units. Not all BCV dedicated 2-bedroom units have the 1K/2Q setup. In fact, most do not. Dedicated 2-bedroom units are a bookable category at resorts where they exist, meaning that owners can choose to book a lock-off or dedicated unit at the time that the reservation is made.

Your success in renting at 11 months out will largely depend on the the resort that you choose and the time of year that you are traveling. Larger resorts like OKW and SSR will have more inventory, more owners and tend to fill up more slowly. You also stand a chance of an owner from those resorts having points they are willing to use for a rental just because of their sheer numbers and they are older resorts. That means that their owners are more likely to say "Hmm, maybe we should put our points up for rental and use the money to vacation someplace else this year" as opposed to a VGF or CCV owner who just purchased within the last couple of months/years for the purpose of using their DVC themselves.

Fall Frenzy (late Sept thru Marathon weekend in January) is a very busy time for booking DVC. Certain units and popular resorts will book up right at the 11-month mark. Competition among owners for those units is fierce. Other seasons are not as difficult to secure a reservation but the trend remains that studios book up first while 2-bedroom units are the second most popular.

I think that you stand a good chance of getting a 2-bedroom with a 1K/2Q configuration as long as you are flexible where you are willing to stay.

The only other studio with 2 queens are the Inn rooms at Vero Beach. BWV does not have dedicated and thus not 2 queens in the second BR and as noted, only the majority of the BCV dedicated do not have 2 real beds.

I think you've got that backwards unless you're speaking about one particular resort. The lockoffs book up faster because the studio portion books up well before the two bedrooms do.

Talked with my group and they are willing to do the Studio at BCV. Therefore we plan on getting two Studio rooms. Our dates are mid may 2018 BEFORE kids are out of school. Our dates are pretty much set with little flexibility. We can move it up a day or two or back a day or 2 but that is about it. We plan on finding some one to rent points from the moment we hit that 11 month period and/or the day they can start checking availability. With that being said what do you think our chances are on securing our reservation?

So you'll have one queen bed and one double sleeper sofa, plus the murphy bed (bunk sized, smaller than twin sized).

Yep that's right. I would prefer at least a queen size sleeper sofa. May try talking them into the Poly if they are wanting to do Studio rooms

Copper Creek has some dedicated 2BR with the 2 queen (?) beds. We booked one for this Fall.

One thing about the BCV dedicated 2BRs, IF you are using the sleeper sofa in the living room. We found that there are a couple of different layouts. One has the entrance to the 2nd BR in the foyer area. The other has the door to the 2nd BR in the back of the living room. We found that setup annoying, because when the sleeper bed is open, you have to climb over the bed to get in and out of that bedroom. (We had a kid that did not wake up early sleeping there). We would request the foyer door setup and would usually get it. Not sure how many rooms are set up each way.

With 8 people, I might be tempted to book OKW because the villa is so much larger.

BTW - the information as listed above is no longer correct. During the refurb all dedicated 2BR's at BCV were given 2 queen beds. There no longer are any dedicated 2BR's with the queen bed/sleeper sofa in the second bedroom.

Here's a link to skier_pete's availability charts for studios and 1-bedroom units. https://www.disboards.com/threads/p...-some-1-bedrooms-vgc-update-10-21-15.3419112/

As you can see, BCV studios seem to remain available in May up to the 7-month window. Your bigger challenge will be finding a BCV owner or owners right at 11 months. BCV is not a large resort, hence fewer owners. It's popular with people looking to rent a reservation because of SAB and it's proximity to both HS and Epcot, so you will be in competition with a lot of other potential renters. If I was looking to rent a BCV reservation, I would begin looking at the RTB (Rent/Trade Board) now and even contact some of the BCV owners who are advertising there since your 11-month window is only a month away. If you're going through a broker, be prepared to wait for a little while before they can line up a BCV owner. There will probably be other renters on a waitlist ahead of you.

I have actually got in contact with a BVC owner. Obviously I can not make the reservation until mid June but ask them to check for us on the first date they can. Now just hoping they will come through for us. Having avalibilty in May at 7 months sounds promising but a bit of a risk. I and I believe the rest of our group are willing to pay a little extra to stay at the studio at PBV if we can not get BCV but would hope to get it at 7 months out. Not sure I am willing to chance a broker and sit and wait. We did that last year but ended up finding a private owner, secured our reservation at 7 months out, and stayed at Poly. LOVED it there but would like to try BCV this time around if possible.

If you're asking about a studio in WDW, as mentioned, only okw provides 2 queen beds in a studio.
