Two possible Planes attractions coming to DCA and EC!

I really enjoy the current Soarin' ride. I'm not so sure about the Planes theme, but I would like to see a worldwide theme on the film - this is EC after all, which is all about the whole planet, not just California....

Agreed I saw the concept art last night looks terrible.

Keep in mind this doesn't mean it is happening I've also seen official art for a Phineus and Ferb redo of JII and Monsters redo of UOE.

I forgot the number of "theaters" off the top of my head....but couldn't they, in theory only change half of them over? I mean the technology/ride system is already there, and with more or less a minor re-program they could have 2 attractions...

As far as I know, Soarin' is only one theater. The loading areas direct you to which section you're in.

Soarin' does need some updating, if only to go digital and remove print defects. I'm certainly open to it going new places as well. Not entirely sure about retheming it to reflect a Pixar leftover.

I'm pretty sure DCA has 1 theater and Epcot has 2.

Wait. I'm a little confused. Are they talking about changing Soarin' to the animated Planes movie coming out this summer? Or, changing it to include a general airplane theme to visually take people all over the world?:confused3

Color me surprised. I've been on Soarin' five or more times and had no idea it was more than one theater.

My other point remains, a refresh of the elements is necessary, probably a digital refresh. The addition of new locales would be cool (especially if they visited other Disney parks around the world).

lol and the current ride makes sense ? Guess it does to you, but it doesnt make any more sense to me than if they would adapt it to a planes inspired story

if I have to choose between the current story of flying and a planes inspired story with them looking at the land from the air, Ill choose the Planes one

But that is my opinion and what my kids and I would want.

You are absolutely free to disagree with me

I think Soarin' does need a new film and I don't care if they include the Planes characters or not. However, I would prefer if the actual film was live action.

How does an attraction about talking planes fit into a pavillion that is about The Land?

All planes land.

...

Theming unseen, I'm not sure how much would change about the actual content and how it relates to the land pavilion. Like many others have said, a new film with new content would be welcome.

No. DCA has 2 theaters. This is my favorite ride, and I've been on it over 100, may be 200, times. Near the end of the queue you either go right or left for one of the two theatres. I don't know about Epcot, since I've only been on that one once (I didn't want to spend my limited time there on a ride that is exactly the same as the one I see all the time in California), but at DCA there are definitely 2 theaters.

With that said, I would absolutely hate for this ride to change, since it is my favorite. I, however, wouldn't be against having a 'Soarin' Over the World' live action, no animation, film on one screen.
