Here is a link to the actual trip report: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2829314

But since we did so many ADR's I wanted a separate place to discuss them all.

A small summary, on this trip it was just DH and I, but we did a lot of character meals, because plain and simple I wanted to. :3dglasses

First off though, DH and I are picky eaters, so DH was very nervous I would chose places to eat at that he wouldn't find anything to eat. He was also worried about make special requests with food, because he has always had people sigh or make comments at him when he does request stuff at restaurants.

Places we tried:

Day 1:
Teppan Edo - Dinner

Day 2:
Crystal Palace - breakfast
Liberty Tree Tavern - lunch
Kona Cafe - dinner

Day 3:
Tusker House - breakfast
Yak and Yeti - lunch
Casey's Corner - quick service dinner

Day 4:
Cape May Cafe - breakfast
Nascar Grille - lunch (Universal City Walk)
In room pizza - dinner

Day 5:
Akershus - breakfast
Le Cellier - lunch
The Plaza - dinner

Day 6:
Captain's Grill - breakfast
The Three Broomsticks - WWoHP - Universal
Yachtsman Steakhouse - dinner (and special cake order)

Day 7:
Cape May Cafe - breakfast
SciFi Dine In Theater - lunch
Via Napoli - dinner

Day 8:
Captain's Grill - breakfast
Peco's Bills - quick service early dinner
(halloween party evening)

Day 9:
1900 Park Fare - breakfast
Beaches and Cream - lunch
Narcoossee's - dinner

Day 10:
Captain's Grill - breakfast

headed home :(

Yes, I know we didn't use the Deluxe Dining to the fullest extent, but we ended up cancelling 2 other reservations (Tokoyo Dining and Tony's) just because we wanted some more down time.

My husband and I ..even without the grandkids....LOVE to eat at the Character meals...first off because we like the restaurant and the food and so what...we have fun when we are at the house of the mouse....

Sounds like you had some good picks and I am anxious to hear about your meals...

thanks in advance

I know this is the DIS boards, but I'm pretty excited to hear about the Three Broomsticks....don't tell anyone :rotfl2:

After we arrived and checked in we had to scoot out pretty quickly to make our 7:20pm reservation at Teppan Edo. Though while in line waiting to check in there was a pretty irate lady who was none too happy about having to wait an hour because she didn't have a reservation. This was the first of many thank yous my husband gave me for making ADR's 180 days out.

Our chef was ok, but not as spunky as the other tables around us though. DH and I have eaten in hibachi style places before, so we knew what to expect though.

First some pictures of the chef coking our meal.

The oh so good sauces.

DH and I both got the Assorted Tempura for our appetizer, though truthfully DH didn't like any of the options for the appetizers, so he got this so I could have extra shrimp.

I ended up with the chicken and shrimp and DH got the steak and chicken.

We thought the meal was ok, but we both agreed that we wouldn't pay out of pocket for the meal.

I got the Chocolate Ginger Cake for dessert, but it was a bit dry for my taste and the picture of it didn't come out too good. :(

Moving on to Day 2

Crystal Palace

We didn't take any pictures of food here, but we loved this place. This was our first character meal and DH was very impressed.

DH does not like eggs, so the buffet was perfect for him. He had bacon, Mickey waffles, and a biscuit.

I had a create your own omelet which was fabulous and some sausage.

We loved all the characters and this was a great way to start our trip.

Lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern:

I was surprised how busy this place was when we arrived for our 2:00pm ressie. We ended up waiting for about 15 minutes, but we were fine with it.

I got the clam chowder for the app and DH got the fried cheese. OMG the fried cheese was a.m.a.z.i.n.g.

DH got a burger with fries (which he thought was stupid taking a picture of), but he really liked it. DH doesn't like anything on his burger (no lettuce, tomatoes, onions etc. just cheese and ketchup) He said he would definitely come back here again.

I ordered the Colony Salad and thought it was so good. Very fresh and so filling. I ordered it with shrimp instead of chicken. Can you tell yet I love shrimp. :lovestruc

For dessert I got the Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake. O.M.G. nuff said

DH got the Decadent Chocolate Terrine (without the berries, because he doesn't like fruit. lol) ETA: Well it was supposed to be without berries, but I guess he did end up with some. lol

He really liked it, but only ate maybe half of it, because it was very rich.
