Two park question

Hey all, my wife and I are planning a WDW trip for January this year, and we are considering going over to Universal for a day (despite the expense). Our main interest is in IOA, which we could go to for the $82 single park ticket + $18 for Mears shuttle, so $100 a person. I noticed Dreams Unlimited has the package deal for $115 that has two park access. Not really knowing a thing about Universal, I'm wondering what the feasibility of doing both parks in one day is? Would there be plenty to keep us busy at IOA for a full day, or is the $15 upgrade worth it to be able to stop in at both parks?

Thanks!

Well, after I posted this... I found another thread that pretty well answered my question.

Any thoughts are still welcome... but it looks like if we are interested in IOA it would be best just to give it a day by itself. It sounds like wait times are still high enough there thanks to Harry Potter that I wouldn't want to short change the park by trying to fit both in in one day.

There is plenty to do all day in IOA if you like thrill rides. What date are you going?

Thanks, that is what I gathered, but it is good to have confirmation. We aren't sure on the date, we are planning to be in Orlando Jan 1st-8th, so sometime in there.

The crowds will decrease dramatically after New Years weekend so you should be good after January 2nd.
