Two or Three Day Ticket?

For my upcoming trip, I had originally planned on 2 very full days in the parks. Recently, a friend's kids were selling coupon books for a fundraiser, one of which included Disneyland tickets. When I looked at the website, which actually takes you to the Disneyland website to purchase, the price for the 3 day park hopper ends up being only $30 more than the full price of the 2 day park hopper I was planning on getting.

So for $30 more, should I get a 3 day park hopper? My instinct says "Yes!", but I land at LAX at 1:20 pm on a Tuesday. I figure by the time I get an Uber, get to Anaheim, get checked in, and finally make it to Disneyland, it will be close to 4:00 pm. Now the park is open until midnight that day, so I would still be getting 8 hours, again for only $30 more.

What do you guys think? Would it be worth it? I know I wouldn't be able to get a FastPass for super popular things, like RSR, but I am a single rider so that's not a huge concern. Thought? Advice? Thanks!!

I think it would be worth it, but then I almost always go in to the parks on my arrival day at Disneyland.

I'd totally do it. If nothing else, you can use it to knock out some of the evening entertainment (PtN & fireworks or WoC) that can take up a lot of time, and then use that time to ride more stuff. But I bet you can still get a lot done on that first day, especially as a single rider.

I would do it. When on vacation everything is so expensive, there's not a lot you can buy for 30 bucks. An extra day (or half day) at Disneyland is a pretty great deal for that price, imo.

I am in a similar position. I planned a 2 day trip, but it just so happened that my flight was getting in early enough that I can spend the better part of the afternoon and all evening in the park if I get a 3 day ticket. It's $60 for me, but I'll be there (park) by 1 PM or so. For $30 I would not even hesitate!

Do it! Eight hours for $30 is totally worth it! You don't want to be sitting in your hotel room thinking you could have been having fun in the parks.

Definitely do it. In addition to the benefits mentioned above, you'll also be eligible for a Magic Morning. That alone almost makes it worth it . Have a great time!

Haha, you guys are all great! Just the enablers I needed Because really, I haven't been since 2007, and it's likely I won't be able to go again for another few years, so I can't believe I even had to question this!

One question I do have: since I'll be purchasing my tickets online, it says they'll go to my phone. When I get to the park, how do I get the paper ticket? I don't want to have to wait in a long kiosk line, I think I read somewhere on another thread I just go to the actual park entrance? Is this correct? If I do have to wait in the long ticket line, I might select the option to have the tickets sent to me.

You just go to the turnstyles and they will either scan your phone or your printout and then give you a paper ticket and take your picture! It's super easy! NO waiting in the ticket booth line!
