First stop today was back to AK, and right to the Safari. We walked right onto the ride - it's interesting to see little details Disney adds. For example, the tire tracks on the road where you get onto the jeeps are embedded right into the cement. I thought it was kinda neat.
We saw lots of animals this time, and a couple of rhinos walked up right beside our jeep. We saw 2-3 cheetas, and got great views of the lions. Early morning is a much better time to see the animals than the afternoon.
We then walked the Pangani trails, and got a kick out of watching a gorilla pee right in front of us, and then slapping his chest afterwards almost in a proud sort of way. It doesn't take much to amuse us. Then onto TOugh to be a Bug, which I still found incredibly amusing, even though I had seen it 1.5 years ago.
Then onto Donald's Breakfast-o-saurus. I wasn't too thrilled that after registering, they ask you to wait in a line. Little do people know that this leads to a photographer who then tries to sell you your picture. We weren't planning to buy the picture anyway, and jumped out of line. By the time we were seated, we were starving. The food was OK, nothing really special. For anyone thinking of going here, it is themed to be like a camp, and you drink out of plastic mugs, and it feels like your living in a big tent. The characters come to every table, but unfortunately if you're away getting food when they come, they may not come back.
With our stomachs full, we rode on Dinosaur, and unlike the day before, there were no problems with shut downs. It was starting to rain, so we took shelter in the Tarzan Rocks show. After seeing the Lion King show, this was a bit of a disappointment, although the roller bladers were neat to see. If it wasn't raining to hard we probably would have left the show early. I would have liked to see more of the characters from the movie rather than the band that plays the music.
Even though it was raining, I coerced my fiancee to go on the Kali River Rapids ride, more just to say we did it. We had been on the ride before, but I wanted to see how it compared to Popeye at IOA. I found Popeye to be a lot more thrilling than Kali, but the scenery was nicer in Kali. We quickly walked along the Maharajah Jungle Trek, and then caught the bus to go home.
After drying off from the rain and napping, we went to Ohana's for dinner. If you're a big meat eater, I really suggest this place. You start off being seated and you can nibble on some appetizers like chicken wings, shu-mai, noodles, salad etc. The waiter then brings skillets of steak, turkey, chicken, shrimp that are right from the grill. The place is all you can eat, and I really enjoyed it. If you're a vegetarian, there's no point coming here obviously. Dessert was a pleasant surprise - pineapple than you can dip in caramel. It's quite a nice mixture of tastes and I'd like to try and make this at home. Another bonus of the restaurant is that if at the right spot, you can see the MK castle and the fireworks show above it.
We then took the monorail to the TTC, and caught the bus to DD to do some shopping. We then caught the boat that goes along the Sassagoula river to DxL. It's a nice ride, but can get cold at night.
We got back to our room around 10 and feel asleep relatively early.

Next day: MK, Whispering Canyon

Tarzan wasn't really what I was expecting either, although I did enjoy it. I reminded me of Starlight Express. Remember that? :)

I agree about all of the little details and the wonderful scenery. I that that's a big part of what makes Disney so special.

Thanks for sharing your trip with us, peacefrogdog. :)
