November 12 - Day 6

We got up early for early entry at MGM, even though we were there last night. I ran to the food court to get some coffee (which was horrible), and bought two bananas that turned out to be $1 a piece!!

At MGM, we made a bee line right for RnRC and ToT. We walked right onto RnRC. I had had a can of coke in my shorts pocket (to drink later), and during the ride, it feel out and was rolling around the car! I was hoping that it wouldn't fall out during one of the inversions and fortunately it didn't. The picture of us on the ride was great, but too expensive, so I did the cheap-o thing and took a picture of the picture. Yes I am a cheapskate.

We went on it again, and then over to ToT where there was no wait! By this time EE was over, so we wandered around. We did the Movieride, which is neat, but not all that exciting. We hadn't been to the Backlot tour last time we were here, so we did that. We had to take a round-about way to get there because a lot of the roads were blocked off for the Soap star festival. The Backlot tour It was quite interesting, but a lot of similarities to Earthquake at USF. After grabbing a bite to eat, we stood in line to take a picture with Mickey in the animation courtyard. I wasn't ashamed a bit to see that we were the only adults in line that weren't with kids!

It was around 1 by this time so we went back to our hotel, napped and then took the bus to Epcot around 3:30. Test Track had a lineup that was 45 minutes from the entrance, and the fastpass time was going to be right in the of the Tapestry of Nations parade. We skipped it and explored Innovations. We're in our mid 20's, and we felt that this was all just a bit too educational for a vacation. Next was Honey, I Shrunk the Audience which was a lot better than I thought it was going to be. Outside the theatre were two founatins I had heard about : one that 'jumps' from spout to spout, and the other one that seems to flow upwards.

We walked around the World Showcase, including Millenium Village. The Food & Wine festival was on, so we collected a bunch of recipe cards at each stand. We aren't big wine fans, and the food seemed fairly pricey, so we didn't end up spending too much. But as hunger hit, we ended up buying a small cupful of beef stroganoff that costed $3 - in retrospect, quite the rip off! We found a place to sit down, and waited for the Tapestry of Nations parade.

This was quite the spectacle, and very nice to look at. While visually it looked great, I'm not quite sure how it represented all the Nations (or if it was even supposed to), other than the fact that it ran through the World Showcase. Nevertheless it was great to see.

From there we explored the Mexico pavilion and did the boat ride. I must say the restaurant inside that overlooks the water looked quite nice, and is something I'd like to try the next time I'm back there.

We then sat down for a bit, waited for the second parade to end by the walkway to the Boardwalk, and then 'tagged' along the end in order to claim a spot on the bridge between England and France to see Illuminations. We had to pretty much fight for spot here because many others had the same idea. The woman ahead of us spread her arms along the bridge, so as to 'claim' a pretty large span along the bridge for her and her friends. I was close to saying something to her, but a couple nearby moved over to give us a spot. In retrospect, I think I could have seen just as much of Illuminations from anywhere along the World Showcare.

The show was great, and I loved how it was coordinated with the music. It was pretty cold that night, and unfortunately the wind was blowing toward us. This meant a lot of smoke. After the show it took us close to 30 minutes to reach our bus, and then back to DxL.

Next day : Magic Kingdom, Kona Cafe, Animal Kingdom

Another great day! Thanks for posting.

I've never thought about taking a picture of a ride picture. Did anyone say anything to you about it?

You should have tried the single riders line for Test Track. Was it open?

Thanks for sharing your trip with us, peacefrogdog. :)
