Does anyone know if the 3 Universal Hotels have a two night minimum for weekends? I cannot get a room for one night a Saturday night.

I was able to find rates for just a Saturday night. What date were you looking at? They might just be sold out.

They have 10/23-10/24 but when I try to get just 10/23 I can't get it. I think I will just keeep trying back. They have one day if I go during the week. We are scheduled to fly back on the 24th at 7:30 pm. I may have to stay outside the park and then purchase the Express Pass. We are only there for one day I guess that would work.

I called Universal's 800# and the reservation person told me to check back she did not think that a minimum stay was the problem. I think I will continue to check back from time to time I could get lucky.

book 2 nites then at check in tell them you only want 1 nite.

If it is a minimum problem it will say on the website that you have not met the minimum. Otherwise, it will just say that there are no rooms available.

You may have to pay a penalty for doing this. Technically, you need to cancel a room up to 6 days in advance (or 5, I can't remember)...so you may get charged for both nights even if you only use one.

Technically you already have the room. so all youre doing is cancelling the second nite.

When I spoke to the person at the 800 # for Universal accomodations the women told me to continue to check she did not think there was a minimum. I suppose they could have some rooms that they reserve for a 2 night minimum. I am sure they have done some cost effective study and it is HHN so... I think I may keep checking the site and then if I get closer I may reserve 2 night and try to cancel one. I have time and I can always go to a good neighbor hotel if I have no other choice.
Thank you all.

Any changes to a reservation need to be made 5 or 6 days before the reservation starts. It is all in the details when you book. You can't just check out early unless you arrange it will the front desk. All hotels are like that -- they all give a time constraint.
