1. Yesterday, DD graduated from high school. She graduated with honors and was awarded the Robert C. Byrd award for her school from Florida Bright Futures. Here is a picture of my graduate (although, not a great one).

2. She drove for the first time. Many of you remember that DD has been very reluctant to get her permit. She is afraid of driving. She got her permit last week. Today, I took her to a church parking lot and let her drive. I'm happy to say that the car is still in one piece and so are my nerves! She's not ready for the road yet, but she did pretty good.

I'm a very proud mom!

Congrats to your daughter, on both counts!

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only mom of a reluctant driver. My son has had his permit for a few months but never wants to drive. Although the other day he said he wanted to, but he'd left his (necessary) glasses at home!

Congratulations! *I'm* proud of her and I don't even know her, except through the DIS!! LOL! Awesome accomplishment!! :thumbsup2

Congrats to your daughter... very cool! Is she leaving you for Collage or staying put? UCF is a great school, it's where I went... lol.

And my little sister is the same way, turned 16 and doesn't even want to get her permit yet. I'm trying to gently push her...

Congratulations!

A girl I know just finished her first year of college and still doesn't drive (had her license since 16 though). Her mom had to drive her to the DMV to renew her license when the probationary period for 16 and 17 year olds was over!

Congratulations to your daughter and you. Moms do a lot of support work for their kids between Kindergarten and high school and deserve a "Well Done!" also.

I was a reluctant driver because i took the responsibility of driving very seriously. If the same for other reluctant drivers then they'll make good drivers with some experience.

Another UCF Alumni here! :cheer2:

Congrats to you and DD, Peg. :cool1:

Thanks, everyone! Kendall will be attending FSU in the fall. For selfish reasons, I pushed UCF. FSU offered more for her interests.

Congratulations to your DD! I am sure these must be exciting days for both of you! :)

That is great, Peg, twice! Congratulations to both you and Kendall!! :thumbsup2 Nice seeing her in her cap and gown.

Hope to maybe see you guys in a week or so. :cool1:
