Two hurricanes threaten Hawaii

Turned on the news for a minute just now and heard that the impact of Julio will be minimal, thank goodness!

Morning kids! Happy to say we had a fairly uneventful flight over....a good amount of turbulence for the last 90 min or so. There must have been a lot of people make flight changes bcuz our flight was only about 1/2 to 2/3 full!! When we checked in at Aulani they said a lot people decided to extend their stays so they were pretty full. We did not get my room request (higher floor, long wing of Ewa tower overlooking the Starlit Hui lawn). We got the 16th floor but overlooking the valet parking structure so I guess that we are in the Ewa tower, just not the long wing. That was kind of a bummer. I will check the room thread to see if there are any pics posted yet from this villa and will add some when we get home if not.

We stopped at Target on the way in to pick up some storm supplies (beer, vodka & Bloody Mary mix for DH, wine & Captain Morgan for me and chocolate milk & ice tea for DS).

At bedtime we discovered that DS left his retainer case (WITH the retainers in it) on the plane. I have called central baggage / lost & found 2x but it has not been turned in. So it looks like we'll be in for another $$$ expense when we get home.

Hoping to say hi to lovetotraveltx later today before she heads to Maui.

Thanks to lovetotraveltx we have a few more supplies from her leftovers that she couldn't pack to take with her to Maui. If we're overlapping each other maybe I can pass some leftover stuff along too.

Hope that your son finds the retainer case...Chances are it will SHOW UP as the planes are thoroughly cleaner..Who would want a retainer?

Just heard the tail end of a story on the news that there was a distress call from a sailboat somewhere in Hawaii with 3 people missing?
With the hurricanes, who would take a sailboat out???

Rough water is obviously nothing to fool around with!

Did you enjoy DL? I assume that you stayed at VGC? "Thinking" about VGC as a May vaca in 2014..We were at Grand Californian Resort, right before opening of VGC and it looked beautiful! Looking forward to hearing your experiences!
