My DS will be attending the University of Glasgow this Fall as an overseas studies student coming from the USA.

? #1)Does anyone know how I can SHIP packages to DS? Can I use UPS? Or does it have to only be the US POSTAL Service?

Also ? #2) My DH will be flying over to Scotland in late August to get my DS all settled into his dorm at the University. Can anyone recommend a hotel for DH to stay in while helping my DS (preferably near UofG)?

UPS, DHL and FedEx are all fine. USPS Global Priority gets here fast too but isn't delivered via a courier, just the regular royal mail postal system. Sorry, I can't help with the hotel advice.

AWESOME!!!!! ...I think I have talked to Cath a while back after looking at her wedding pictures...I told her my son was going to U0fG and she said it was a great school. That was last Spring when he was accepted.
I would LOVE hearing from Cath!!!!

Ok, hotels near Glasgow University.
The University itself is in the West End of Glasgow. There is a Hilton Grosvenor Hotel ( www.hilton.co.uk ) which is right around the corner from the University. I think this might be the nearest hotel to the University. Rates are around £110 per room per night. Other hotels in the area include One Devonshire Gardens - from £300 per night though but very nice. We had our weddng night here .
The Pond Hotel www.glasgowpondhotel.co.uk/ is a 3 star hotel - costing around £75 per night per room and not far from the University.

Considering the University is less than 2 miles from the city centre, and is served by the Glasgow underground, a hotel in the city centre could also be considered. There are many available - from Travelodge types to 5 star luxury!!

Ahhh...Cath, you are a sweetie ...I will get right on that and start with the Hilton!!! Yes, I will PM you if I have further questions. DH handles flights better than I do and DS is in Athens for the summer with his college. DH will meet DS in Athens and together travel until they reach Glasgow.
DS is like soooo incredibly pumped for his adventure in Glasgow!!! Classes start Sept 1st for him!!!!
