Two Dog Family - Am I crazy

We have 3... our oldest dog is 10. She is a shepard mix and could pretty much care less about the other dogs. Now, "the boys" (as I call them) are a corgi/pom mix and a Chihuahua. We have had the corgi mix for 5 yrs (he is 7 - came from the dog pound) and the Chihuahua for 2yrs (he is now almost 5). Those 2 are like 2 peas in a pod - I would swear they were separated at birth. They just adore each other and are always together.

Just like kids - I found going from 1 to 2 harder than going from 2 to 3. They all have different personalities - but are lots of fun and totally worth it (we have 2 cats as well).

Good luck with your decision! Just remember - another dog to go to the vet as well! We're gearing up for surgery with our second dog this year - ugh.

February a year ago, we had to have our 14 year old dog euthanized. It was a decision that we had a really difficult time coming to and hurt so badly that I swore I would never, ever have another dog and have to go through that again.

A few months later we bought Winston (he's on the left). A few weeks ago we adopted Sammy (on the right).

Sammy is a little hard of hearing and very attached but he is an absolute sweetheart. I don't find it any more difficult having two than when we just had the one.

Whatever your decision, I wish you the best.

We have two Mastiffs. We had the first one alone for 4 years before rescuing our female. They love each other and life is just as easy for us with two as it was with one. I actually seriously considered a third but I came to my senses...for now.:rotfl:

We have two dogs. We have had two dogs for the last 25 years, different dogs of course. I guess it would depend on if your dachshund gets along well with other dogs, right? My mom had a dachshund who was a sweet little guy, but he didn't like other dogs.

Why don't you have your dogs in your signature? I just see your cat? Just curious.:confused3

We have 3 dachshunds. One female and two males. They get more exercise because they play so well together. I can't even imagine having just one now.
