Sorry to use Disney terminology .. we'll be at UO Mon-Tues Dec 13 and 14. I was thinking we could just do Universal on Monday, and IOA on Tuesday. We're off-site.

Should we spring for hopping? It feels like it would be less hectic/busy if we just stuck to one park a day. But I'm definitely open to your expert advice!

We have been to USO a few times and found we could do everything we wanted at each park in a day. I think you would be fine without park hoppers, but you run the risk of the park you are at being really busy and you are stuck. I would get hoppers for that reason alone. If you chose to not get them make sure there isn't anything special going on at the park you are going. They will be running the Macy's parade during that time at US and Grinchmas at IOA. I would stay clear those days. Unless that is something you want to see. Good luck and have fun.

I just looked at the website, and as far as I can tell, these are running every day. So are you saying we should avoid those areas, or am I reading the information wrong and they aren't daily?

Also, if we buy two-day base tickets, and decide to "hop," can we add that?

You should be fine on those days especially at the Studios. It's not really busy in December except during Christmas week. WWoHP and IOA will be busier than the Studios but still shouldn't be bad. Grinchmas and the Macy's parade are daily from 12/4 until 1/1. Don't miss either. :thumbsup2

You can upgrade the base tickets to park-to-park tickets if you'd like.
