Wow. Two days is certainly short but sweet. We left Toronto on Monday with a flight scheduled to leave at 8:30 pm. Well, we were in the middle of a snowstorm. We left the house at 5:30, got to the airport at 6:30 ( it is usually 20 minutes) and then waited until 11:00 for the plane to leave. Luckily we were able to wait for part of that time in the Air Canada Lounge so we had computers and tv's etc. We got into Orlando at about 1:30 and had no movie. The trip was very long. Crazy taxi man took us to Hard Rock. He was going 85 mph and looking around constantly (for cops?) He only had one hand on the steering wheel and then it started to pour. The windshield wipers didn't work and he slowed down to about 10 mph. We got there anyway and by 2:30 we were in our deluxe room (which we got for $139 APH).
I left the curtains open so we would wake up early and by 8:30 we were at the parks picking up DD's power pass. By the way, they never asked at check in to see the APH. I only had my power pass and was going to purchase an annual pass if they wanted to see one since mine expires in April. We grabbed croissants at the little bakery (these are better than at Croissant Moon in IOA). We saw Shrek. This was our first time and I wasn't too impressed. However we went again the next day and found it to be much better and that our special effects hadn't been working very well in our other seats) DS got 999999 MIB a few times but I couldn't get pas 850,000. We ran into some kid (about 18) with long hair who was getting straight nines without the exhaust port and also some older lady who was also getting straight nines. They said the reason we weren't getting 999999 all the time was because we didn't live in ORlando. The kids website it www.meninblack.tk if you want some more tips. It is a straight forward method. In total we spent about 4 hours on MIB. We did the baby swap and nobody minded except this one older guy (the other ride ops said he was from IOA). Every time we came through the baby swap heading into the single rider line he would ask us for our express passes. Then get angry when we said we were single riders. The other ride ops (expecially the darker, oriental one) were getting tired of him. Otherwise, everyone is great. They have guys with flashlights checking your feet to make sure you don't get your toes chopped off.

We ate at Mythos for lunch, of course, Islands for Dinner and Richters for lunch the next day.

It was a great trip. The weather was fine. Shorts first day; pants the next.

Now we're back to at least 3 feet of snow and snowbanks that are about 5 feet high. But we have great memories!

Thanks for the trip report. I remember you saying this trip would be a surprise? How did it go? I hope good!!

The surprise element was a disappointment. DS was half expecting it. It hard to surprise a 15 year old.

Thanks for the report sounds like a blast we are only 6 weeks away by the way was that 4hrs straight on MIB:jester:

No. But it was 2 hours straight. I was getting too frustrated to do 4 hours. But now that I've studied the instructions (again) I'm ready to go (again!) Next time, I'm getting straight nine's if I do have to stay there for 4 hours straight.

Great report! Sounds like you had a good time!

oh now I am disappointed in you damo! We didn't get to meet up AND you didn't bother to see a GB Show?!

I tried to get the kids to watch the GB show. We watched the Beetlejuice guy sing for about 30 seconds and then the kids gave me this look. We had to leave. Next time, I promise. Maybe.

We did watch the Horror Make-up show. A lady from China who didn't speak English was the "help". She was pretty good. I was sitting front row centre and was the one picked on at the beginning and the one who got water squirted all over.

You gave up because of Beetlejuice?! He only does his song for like a minute...then his part is over and the GBs come!

And what's this 'maybe?' :teeth: You're killin me damo!

well damo...I just saw a picture of your kids...so they're a bit older than I thought.

Still...can't believe you bailed after the Beetlejuice guy. Take it from my cousin: she saw Beetlejuice and told my mom that we were easily amused. Once the GBs came out she ended up loving the show!! It took me a while to even tolerate the Beetlejuice part....maybe you didn't have the good Beetlejuice that day (makes all the difference).

Still can't believe you bailed out! :(

You can show my daughter the excitement of the GB guys when we're down in May. She'll just have turned 18. That's not much older than you. My DS, 15, will get as close as the Mummy ride to the GB show and that'll be it!

That's okay about your son...though today two guys (one in his twenties...one a dad) were cracking up soooo hard...it was great. :)

But yeah...we had an "okay" Beetlejuice today. The Beetlejuice part just isn't the same without the good one...he doesn't make the show seem lame at the beginning. The show improves...I promise. :) hehe! Believe me...I'm not the only teenage girl drooler!
