I have a few daffodils that never ever bloom (but many others that bloomed for such a long time this season - took pics, must upload). Anyway, for the few that never ever bloom, they are either in bad spots - too much shade - or I think I planted them too deep.
So here is what I did and do you think this was a good idea?
I dug up the nonbloomers and transplanted them the other week or so. I figure if they take, wonderful! If they don't, then, well, they weren't doing anything anyway so nothing really lost.
However, I just recently read somewhere something (I wish I can find it again) about how daffodils should not be planted with perennials because the daffys will somehow kill the perennials? Did I read that right? Does anyone know anything about this? This really can't be right because my blooming daffys have coincided nicely with my hostas (but I just moved most of those) and with my bearded iris. I put these nonblooming bulbs (they were so tiny) behind my coreopsis.
What do you guys think? Any thoughts on this at all?
