I'm going to post these here, since the resort faqs kinda get hidden;).
First of all, are there easily accessible power outlets in the CSR rooms. My DH wants to be sure we have power outlets for our fan and our laptop when we go. We stayed at the Swan in '97 and you couldn't find any outlets.
Secondly, are there elevators in the buildings? Our daughter has a time walking up stairs, so if there aren't any elevators we need to see about asking for a first floor room.
Thanks in advance.

I was at CSR for a conference two weeks ago and had a room in the Cabanas ... there was an outlet between the TV cabinet and the table which was very convenient. Other than that, the only one easy to use was the one by the sink. I took a power strip as I had 2 PDA's , camera battery charger and cell phone charger. I'd recommend a power strip if you have more than two items to plug in. Not sure what the rooms in Casitas or Rancheros are like, so power strip would probably solve any problem.
Yes, there was an elevator in the Cabanas building ... I stayed in Cabanas 9B and would recommend requesting that. I search the websites for advice and had requested Casitas 1 or Cabanas 9B and was very glad I did not get Casitas. Cabanas 9B was close to bus stop 1 and to the main bldg .. and was very beautiful. CSR is a very pretty resort and bus service was excellent.

Thanks for the info. So far Cabana 9B sounds like what we want. Everywhere I've read says the same thing.:) Just hope we can get it. It would save some walking for our daughter, since it sounds like it's so centrally located.
I just modified our reservations, and we now have 7 nights during Thanksgiving week. Can't wait!:)

BTW, anyone know if there are any junior suites in Cabana 9B?;)

I'm thinking about requesting Cabana 9B, did you have standard view or waterview? What did your room face?

I'm almost positive that cabana 9b is all waterview.

The rooms have ceiling fans too

Buzz, does that mean if I have a standard view, I will not get 9b, if requested?

:) That was my next question too! Of course by August I'm going to be looking into AP rates, so upgrading to waterview wouldn't be a problem.

No, you could still end up with a room in 8a or 9b if you paid for a standard room, but all the rooms in 9b are mostly waterview because of a small lake in the rear of the building and Lago Dorado in the front. If you are lucky enough to get a room in 9b, then its a free upgrade. It can happen. I never request waterview at CSR...just a building.

Mercy ... I had a reserved a standard room ... not sure if 9B was an upgrade or not ... my room was second floor in the back of the second 9B building and looked out onto the small lake which is between the buildings and the main road into the resort (I could see the buses in the distance). I guess you could technically call that "waterview", but I wouldn't. The ceiling fan was very nice, especially when you're just back from the parks. Room 9620 was very close to the elevator and ice machine; ice machine on both floors which was also nice. Also, loved the little wall safe. If I'd been traveling with someone else, then the curtain to divide the vanity area from the bedroom area would be nice when people are dressing.

Is Cabana 9b the only Cabana bldg. w/ceiling fans?

all rooms have a ceiling fan.

Disney counts any speck of water as waterview

Anyone know if there are king bed rooms in cabanas 9b....and if so...where are they located in the building??

Back in March, I reserved a std. room, but also requested a Cabana room as close as possible to the Dig Site. They were so nice and upgraded us to waterview 9B looking out over Lago Dorado. We were on the second floor. It is a beautiful resort!
