Two CP discount/mailgate pass questions

Hi,

We're visiting my son over the holidays. I know the maingate pass he has for guest use is blocked out mostly over the time we're there, but he thinks he can get us into AK on NYE and into any park on the 1st - can anyone confirm this? Also, does he get a cast discount on the Hoop Dee Doo Review?

AK is not blocked out on 12/31. I believe Epcot is the only park that is not blocked out on the 1st.

That's awesome - we will plan on AK on NYE and then Epcot the next day. I'm assuming every other day during our stay (12/24 - 1/1) is totally blocked?
