Two browser method no longer works? - DISREGARD. IT DOES WORK!

This is the message I receive this morning when trying the two browser method to book/cancel.

Offer Cancelled



The room you were holding has been released. Only one accommodation may be booked at a time and the same Membership is currently being used to book another accommodation. Please check for another open browser or if there is another person on your Membership who is trying to make a booking simultaneously.
 
Wonder if so many people were trying to make a switch that it was causing website issues? Has anyone tried the refresh method today?

By "two browser", it means using, say, Firefox and Chrome. It will not work if you use 2 different windows or tabs in Firefox. Can you confirm that you were using 2 different browsers and which two?

Yes, two browsers. I tried Chrome and IE, IE and FF, Chrome and FF. For the first 30 minutes I received the "system unavailable" message but then it switched to the "Offer Cancelled" message. Even went incognito in Chrome to no avail.

I'll be trying again tomorrow morning and will report back.

Anyone ever seen the "Offer Cancelled" message?
 
As an FYI - when I tried it a couple hours ago I was using Chrome on a PC and safari on my ipad. As I mentioned it worked as it has in the past whenever I've done it.

And the way you did it was to search for the room, select the one you wanted to get to the page where you choose the points you want to use then go to your second browser/device and go to your existing reservations and cancelled the room you wanted to free points up from? After cancelling you went back to your first browser/device and just refreshed the page to refresh the points available?

Sounds like you had a lot of things going on vs a straight search, select, cancel, book sequence.
 
I fully understand the procedure, I've done it before, many times. It didn't work today, perhaps because of the "system unavailable" errors but trust me when I say this was not "user error". Fingers crossed for the morning!

The system unavailable causing delays and such was all I meant. If it left you hung up on a search - and it very possibly did - then you were going to have issues.
 
I just used two browsers this morning to grab a reservation I had waitlisted/been stalking and cancel the reservation it replaced.
