1) I've read that they are having campfire & movie nights on the beach at the Beach Club. Is it actually a campfire, or just a movie? Does anyone know if this is just in the summer, or do they do it in the fall, as well? Is it every night, or just a few nights a week?

If they are indeed making this a regular program, I give that a big thumbs up! :thumbsup2

2) Is Stormalong Bay significantly more crowded on the weekends than on the weekdays -- we're traveling in October, so I guess I'm wondering about this for the "off-season."

It's actually a campfire along with the movie. I was there in August and I *think* it was every night, with a different movie each day of the week. Not sure if this will last into the "cooler" months though.

Yes SAB is more crowded on weekends from what I can tell.

The movie was every night on a screen floated in the lake. The Fire circle was there near the steps to the shipwreck waterslide.
Check with the Guest Services at the resort-I am sure it can change at amoment's notice.

As a DVC member I used to enjoy pool hopping to Stormalong Bay. I booked BCV just for the pool and could not believe how empty it was-all 7 days we were there. When I say empty I mean half as many folk as the OKW main pool during our May stay. We got our resort ID checked between opening (10am) and about 4:30-5pm. Then we were not asked for ID. The Resort bracelet is a 1" strip color coded for each day. The CM put mine on so tight I got a wicked white mark = no tan.

Stormalong Bay has a maximum occupancy of 1200 (according to the sign posted near the lifeguard). In Sept. there clearly could have had many more guests before it was crowded.

If you enjoy YOGA, ask if the program is ongoing-7am to 8am daily on the Beach. 9/24 was the first day and I do not know if they had enough interest to sustain it. I went 3 of the 7 days I was there.

If you want to check with the resort on anything they would probably be the best source for current activities.

We checked out of BCV on Friday. Yoga and the movies are still going according to the schedule we received although we didn't do either activity this trip.

Happy planning!
