without children, who love going to WDW every year! We always get "you're going there again"??? We tell those people the wonderful place WDW is and the things you can do there and the great dining options and each year we still get, "again"? Does anyone else ever get asked this??

I go solo and I get it all the time. *sigh*. I stopped trying to explain it to people, I've learned Disney is something you either love or hate. I started with one particularly annoying person who would give me a hard time about it making comments every time they were going to their cottage or on a cruise (which was a 5x a year event for them). They stopped once they realized how rude it was for someone to judge your vacation preferences.

Heard it at least 5 times today.......

Or the...
"You don't have kids living at home anymore, so what are you going there for?" (mine are in their late 20's)

"You must be taking grandkids???" (don't own any)

"Once you get to be your age with greying hair and all, maybe you should be looking at an all inclusive resort where it's going to be quiet" (ummmm, my age??????? ha ha ha)

DH and I are going to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary at the end of the month. Some people have just said, of course thats where you would go. Its no longer a surprise to them, as that is the only place we vacation it seems. Although we did have a few people ask us why would we want to go to WDW? We have 6 children, and they just can't get over why we wouldn't rather do a cruise or someplace quiet. WDW is our happy place. We went 2 years ago without the kids also. That was the first time, and wow, what a different experience we had. :cloud9:

What I tell people is:
Whoever pays the piper calls the music.
:rockband: :charac2: :mic:
If your family wants you to go on a vacation and they are willing to pay for it, go and have a great time on them. If you are paying for the trip you go where and when you choose to go.

I am going by myself for my birthday in a couple of weeks. :cool1: I would go by myself every trip if I could. There is nothing wrong with adults doing what they like. Besides they are not footing the bill.... Why should they care?????:confused3

My aunt and uncle went there for their 50th anniversary a couple years ago so you're NEVER too old!!! I've often thought an all inclusive resort would be too boring! I mean, once you have experienced WDW's level of entertainment and level of service, it's difficult to be happy anywhere else! :dance3:

i , owning two time shares (kidani and vero beach) LOVE RETURN TRIPs! i dont think people realize how versatile disney is. generally i go for the parks but in march its just epcot and the flower and garden festival. the other days are just like any other resort, chilling by the pool, great food and amazing accomodations....... so yes, i go"again" with my amazing relaxing time. ENJOY!

Okay, well, I live here now (10 minutes from ANY park). I go all the time. I love being an adult at Disney. My DF gets it and hangs with me when he can. Its awesome to have another adult to go to Disney with but truly, I would go anyway. Its awesome here.

There is so much to do here plus you can treat your resort as a vacation destination. Awesome. . .

I get the same thing! I used to try to convince the nay-sayers but now I just don't care. Maybe when I stop bringing them goodies back they will change their mind  I don't care that many think it is a place for children, I just telling them they need to go theirself and find out. I went to DL as a kid at least once or twice every year so it really holds some nostalgia to me also. It brings back that feeling of being a little kid again & who doesn't want to feel a little younger again?

We get the "looks". It sounds like you all get that same look.:grouphug:

We have found that Disney World and all it's options( hotels, parks, restaurants, and events)have provided us many wonderful memories!!! From our Honeymoon 20 years ago to our 20th Anniversary Trip in 13 days!!!

:dance3:

My fiance and I are going there for our honeymoon and have gotten some strange looks about it. He isn't a big beach fan and a tropical getaway just wasn't what we were looking for. He is so excited for his trip to WDW, and so am I. We have not really gotten a true vacation since we have been together, so we absolutely cannot wait to go!

DH and I used to get that question, but people don't really say that anymore since they know we love to go. What happens now is that we just tend to get teased about it, which can also be annoying.

What's funny is that I'm the one who started as the Disney maniac but I have now indoctrinated my DH. :thumbsup2 Now many times I'll suggest other things for vacation but he'll say "What don't we just go back to Disney?" Some people still think I'm forcing him though when he is actually quite on board with it. I could sit on a beach for 7 days but DH needs activities so it works out really well. We always go for F&W so I'll often mention that to people who comment.

I know it's annoying to get the questions. The DIS helped me with that by relaying stories of talking to people who go to the shore every year. What's the difference?? The bottom line is, people who have to ask obviously just don't get it. Whatever, more room for us! :goodvibes

We get this constantly. While we do not go every year we have gone 7- 8 times in the last 10 years. :lmao:

My SIL seemed annoyed when DH and I were taking a surprise Christmas trip to see the decorations and we kept talking about how awesome it is. :confused3

I don't really care, going back in 2 months and 2 weeks and can not wait :cool1:

We do have children and we all LOVE disney. People we go to Disney and on a Cruise every year and people mostly inlaws are always ask us how we dont' get sick of it. I laugh and say how in the WORLD could you EVER get sick of disney. :rotfl2:

Me and my husband are going on our first alone trip ever in March and we chose DISNEY!!! :lovestruc

I get these questions all the time. People love to joke about it, question it, etc. I don't get what the big deal is, to be honest. Where I vacation and choose to spend my time isn't their business...they aren't paying! :headache:

Besides. I believe that I'll have a great time at Disney and I haven't been disappointed so far. Of course, it's just like any other destination and it isn't perfect but it's so close! The overall of my trips have been positive and I feel like going other places has a higher chance of failure as far as having a good time overall (I was recently planning a weekend long trip somewhere, ended up going early and then realized that it was more of a day long destination :roll eyes:).

To the "haters" I just roll my eyes, get back on the dis, and look forward to my countdown :cool1:

We hear it, too! If people don't know us, and they hear we are going to WDW, the first thing they ask is how many kids we have. I always say, "We have two adult kids - right here!"

On our last WDW trip, we went for 9 days. Everyone kept saying, "What are you going to do for 9 days??" And would you believe we still didn't get to do everything we wanted? We still have never been to the Boardwalk or any of the shops/restaurants around it. Nor have we ever used our voucher for mini golf, and we LOVE mini golf!

Maybe on this next trip....
