We're DINKS who LOVE WDW... so I'm posting a trip report for anyone who is thinking about Disney and have no children...
We Love It! This is our annual trip for 2003...
Sept 23-26

Sept 23: Day One:
Everything is going too smoothly... up at 5am, out the door by 6am, to a new off-airport parking facility.. bus is ready for us and we've pre-paid via internet. At the airport in 30 seconds flat after parking front row! Plane was even early! We arrive in Orlando by 11:15 EST... 20 minutes early. Rental Car is waiting for us... this is too easy!
Off to AKL.. we had booked a standard room (read: cheap $109/night); I'm told upon check in that the room is not ready, but they have given us a complimentary upgrade to Savannah View! WOW!!
So until our room is ready, we dash off for Animal Kingdom. Bus is just pulling up as we get there. First on the agenda is Festival of The Lion King.. this show is better each time I see it. Now I really feel I'm in WDW... view the birds in Asia, take the Safari ride, and enjoy the parade. Back to AKL to get in our room..
What a ROOM!!! We must have had the best room in the hotel... third floor, end of the hallway, corner room. We had a huge balcony and 4 giraffes that enjoyed their dinner in the tree right outside our balcony! This is fabulous!
Dinner at the California Grill... sushi, fish and CA wines.. delicious! And what a view of the castle at night! Breaktaking!

Day Two: Epcot. No crowds! This is our favorite park. We sent an e-postcard to all our unlucky friends and co-workers back home..rode Misson: Space... really liked this ride, although I thought I would feel the spinning, but you don't.
Saw Ellen and Universe of Energy; Test Track; and all of the countries.. everything is a walk on, even the Fast Pass Machines are not running.
Dinner at Jiko at AKL... One of the best meals I have ever eaten! DH had the monkfish, I had the quail. Delicious S. African wines!
A wonderful atmosphere and fabulous service.

Day Three: Typhoon Lagoon! Nothing must be funnier than watching two 40-somethings running around a water park like kids! Loved the water slides, but I like BB better.. more tube rides. This park was fun for us because it is always down for rehab when we usually visit in Nov.
Afternoon: MGM. Still, no crowds. Walked on to RNR, TOT (DH rides, I chicken out) and Indiana Jones. Rainy, so we wore our ponchoes, which were HOT!!
Left MGM and went back to Epcot via the boat.. went directly to R&C for a "pint". Met a lovely English couple visiting and we talked for two hours!
Dinner: Chefs de France. We didn't have a PS, and they had plenty of seating! Good service and excellent food. I had the beef medallions, and DH had fish. Delicious!

Day Four: MK. We aren't big MK fans, but I do love to see the castle. Rode Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear, and watched the Tiki Birds. Saw the Hall of Presidents. Still rainy, so we decided to take the boat over to WL for lunch at Whispering Canyons. Very fun!

We left early that day, to continue the rest of our vacation on the beach.

Already planning for next year! End of Sept was a wonderful time to go, except for the rain. We literally walked on to everything.

hello to my fellow hoosier!! (i'm in indy too)

sounds like you guys had a great time!! we were at WDW last september and found the lines to be pretty much non-existant. we're hoping for the same kinda magic when we visit at the end of november/beginning of december next year!

Is 873 your telephone prefix? That would be Zionsville!
Thanks for your nice words.. we did have a terrific time, didn't report everything we did because I thought the post would be too long.. I've not been in December; we always go right before Thanksgiving. But the lines were even shorter this trip!

Enjoyed your report...Hey whats wrong with 40 something running around a water park? Cant wait for my husband and myself for our May 04' trip to enjoy by ourselves. Glad you had a great time.

nope...the 873 represents my birthday! august 31, 1973...we actually live in fishers right now, but we're building a house up in pendleton!!

i did our trip report from our trip last year. we were married at a chapel in orlando and then honeymooned at WDW. that trip report took forever!!! i told just about everything we did!! i'm a detailed person though...i just couldn't eliminate anything! :)

Wonderful trip report ~ Thanx for sharing.

What's wrong with a couple of over 30s (which covers the whole spectrum) without kids running around WDW and having a blast? DH & I do it (although we'd love to have a family and do that too -- plug, plug -- we're trying to adopt so if anyone out there knows a birthmom you can email me!). And after a 2 year hiatus (not by choice), we can't wait to go back and be "children" again! :bounce:

September is a wonderful time to go. And it sounds like you had a great time too!

What a wonderful trip (and trip report)! I LOVE hearing about other adults having fun in WDW without children! Everytime we go to WDW, people still question us and exclaim that WDW is for KIDS!! I ought to direct these people to your report! Welcome back!

Stephen and I are a couple of 40 somethings w/o kids. Well, we have kids, but they're grown and on their own (yes, we started very young). I am the first to say how much fun WDW is w/o kids. I am actually taking my first trip with little ones in March. A friend needs a "hand", so I am tagging along. Could be a whole new experience. I'm considering adding on a few days solo. That would be a new one for me.

Enjoyed your report. Dontch love those impromptu meetings with strangers where you talk forever. That's one thing I love about WDW!

Dee, All I can say is WOW!!! What a trip. DH and I (mid 30's) go without children all the time. It brings out the child in everyone!
Thanks for sharing your great trip!

We went without our kids for the first time at the end of April (20th anniversary), and now, thanks to a free flight that has to be used before the end of the year, we are going again in 45 days!!! Our kids (Senior, Freshman, and middle schooler) have too many school commitments to be able to go. I did feel a little funny the first time I went down the water slide at the Swan (one 43 year old in line with a dozen kids under 12), but I soon got over it. I was having too much fun!!!! Great report.
