Two AAA questions

1. Is the AAA room-only discount something hat you do through your local AAA office or is just a perk that Disney offers to AAA members?
2. About when will AAA room-only discount information be available for 2009? (specially August 2009)

My understanding is AAA room discounts can be obtained booking via a AAA travel agent, or disney directly.
The 2009 rates are not yet available, they should be announced sometime this summer. The AAA discount would then be determined based on time of year, rooms available, etc.
By calling AAA or Disney directly you can book a 2009 room only ressie as long as the check-in date is within 500 days of today's date. You would be required to put down a deposit equal to one night's stay based on the resort's current peak rate for 2008.

Yes, Disney will give you the AAA discount on a room only reservation. If you want to book a package, you have to book directly through AAA to get the discount
