Two 1-beds at SSR options

If we get two one-bedrooms at SSR what are our options? Do they have actual adjoining one-bedrooms or would we each have to stay in separate rooms with half the kids? Getting these via RCI so 1-bedroom is only option.

All 1BR units at Saratoga Springs are part of lock-off 2BRs. None of them will connect. You may be able to get two near to each other, but such requests aren't guaranteed.

Do you want adjoining rooms or connecting rooms? They have two different meanings in hotel-speak. Connecting rooms have an internal door between the rooms, so that you can go from one room to another without going out into the corridor. Adjoining, to a room assigner, means "next to", or "nearby".

It sounds like you're looking for connecting rooms. Unfortunately, if that's the case, you're out of luck. The only DVC villas that connect at WDW are some studios at the Poly. There are no connecting 1-bedroom villas anywhere on property.

How many people are in your party, altogether?

Your best bet is to ask for 2 adjoining rooms, no requests are guaranteed at Disney, I would put in the requests with Disney, but I would plan on arriving early at SSR resort, in the hope that if the request doesn't come thru you still might be able to make it happen at the front desk!

RCI trade. May not be able to.

I would try for a two bedroom, SSR is your best chance to get a 2BR through RCI since it has the most available. Even if you don't get one I would get a studio and a 1BR to save money if you can. You still have a kitchen to cook in and you wouldn't both have to cook separate meals.

OP stated 1 BR ONLY option. No 1 BR connects to another 1 BR. Adjoining means they may be near each other. But it is only a non guaranteed request. In reality you could be in different buildings or even different, distant sections of SSR.

You will have to split up and have one parent in each room with the kids. Even if they were right next to each other, you couldn't leave the kids alone in one room. On a slim chance you could pay cash for a studio and ask that they link the two reservations (Travel with) you might wind up with a lockoff two bedroom villa. But you would have to be very lucky.

Thanks for the responses. To answer some of the questions...we are a party of 8 (2A/6C) and studios and 2br are non-existent through RCI on the weeks side. Looks like we will have to split up and hope we at least get the same building (will request same floor, but no guarantees I know). Might check out doing one 1br through RCI and renting points for a studio and hope, hope, hope they can put us in a 2-bd lockoff. After looking at SSR floorpans, it looks as though all of the 1br and studios are really just part of a 2br lockoff...is that correct? Also, what is the occupancy limit for the 1bd? Might be able to get grandma to come along and stay in 1 room with older three children and DH and I with younger three if 5 are allowed.

The two bedroom villas at SSR sleep eight. Since none of yours are under the age of three, you'd be over occupancy by adding Grandma. Occupancy is four plus one under the age of three in the one bedroom villa. If you are lucky enough to get a two bedroom lockoff by booking a studio on cash, the studio will have one queen bed and one double sleeper sofa.

Have you checked out getting a two or three bedroom at one of the HGVC locations in Orlando through RCI? Tuscany is pretty close, as is Parc Soleil. And they do provide bus transportation to WDW.
