I want to put in my vote for Twistee Treat LBV as a worthy trip offsite. The ice cream (really a soft-serve, custard kind of thing) is very good, the service is excellent, and the prices can't be beat. We stayed onsite (OKW), but I regret to say we visited Twistee Treat LBV virtually every day. I wish I had the cash to open a franchise back home. :)

I'll add that I think Twistee Treat LBV is kinda an independently-operated TT. We visited one in Ocala (I think) a couple of years back and it seemed just as good, though. Seriously, the cost for an entire family is about the cost of one sit-down ice cream experience in WDW. Crazy.

I LOVE Twistee Treats. I have been to the Lake Buena Vista and the Kissimmee/Clermont one, like the one at LBV better, but they are both wonderful. We have to visit at least, once, twice, maybe even 3 times.

Oh where is this lovely located? I'm off to google as we will be offsite the first 2 nights.

There is a new one on Hwy 192 West .... Animal Kingdom end heading for Hwy 27 ... Next to Gas Station Racetrac & Opp. WAWA

Pictures were definitely in order. Must try a cone shaped one....my son would get a kick out of it. Does anyone know which cone shaped location is closest to Wyndham Bonnet Creek.

Oh my those cone shaped ones are too cute! Thanks for sharing! And yes lbv one is closest I would guess but which one is closer to the B resort(first part of our trip) when we are hitting up offsite stuff.

The Lake Buena Vista one is closet to The B resort as well. It is in the parking lot of Winn Dixie. We stay at Grande Villas that is next door to Winn Dixie and this seems to be a nightly "can we go to Twistee Treats" song from my girls. Love that place.

One other thing we learned this year - they have a drive thru :). (It rained most nights we were there this trip....so this was a nice way to get a treat without getting soaked.)

I have never seen one that wasn't cone shaped. We have on down the street from us and consider it on the higher end for prices. I do like the orange flavor. :)

These are 2 different franchises. The second link is to the family-owned Twistee Treat and Ginther's Swirls. They are the BEST! We tried out the other Twistee Treat on 192, and it was NOT the same. Twistee Treat LBV is family owned and operated. Their ice cream is pretty much my DH's favorite treat in the world. all I have to do is mention "Peanut butter dipped cone" and he starts to drool! :)

Oh great. Now we're going to HAVE to go next month. Thanks a lot. :rolleyes2:rolleyes1

The great thing is they are usually open until 11pm! Makes a perfect after park snack if you are staying off-site.

I wonder how they can both have the same name in the same area? The family owned one says they are not part of a franchise or larger company, just a family owned business. You wouldn't think they both would be allowed to register the same name. Just curious.

We will be there in October, staying offsite, and I've added this to our list for SURE. I think we will try the family owned one (probably more than once lol)
