Is a request needed for bed type or is this something that is easily adjusted once in your room?

I am new to all of this, so pardon all the questions.

Thanks

It's easily adjusted by your stateroom host once you get there. It's actually 2 twins put together, making a big bed.

Hope this helps.

Questions are always good! Ask away!

The beds are configured as a queen. If you want it that way you don't have to do anything.

If you need twin beds just call DCL (or your TA if you use one) and let them know. They should be split when you get to your room the first day. If not just mention it to your stateroom host/hostess and he/she will take care of it when they turn your beds down that night.

The beds are usually pushed together to make one queen size bed. The beds can be seperated to make 2 twin size beds. If you want separate beds, I would make the request when you book your cruise, then the cabin will be set up as requested ahead of time.

Yes, I totally agree. The "Queen" is the standard set up, so if you want them as "Twin" (even though a bit smaller than a true twin), I would request it ahead of time. This will actually save your SH from needing to make the bed twice and saves a little on the need to wash sheets. Once they unfold them and place them on your bed, if needing to change, they have to take those clean sheets and send them to laundry. So saves the enviroment just a little. Just note that the twin beds are a little smaller. On one of our cruises, our SH actually suggested to my DFs (there were 2 of them next door to me), to keep one bed as the bigger bed and the other use the convertable sofa as the sofa is larger than a single bed. So I do not know your sizes, but put that in the back of your head as well. She gave them the option night two to change and they decided to keep one person on the sofa as she found it quite comfy. :thumbsup2

I need twin beds in my cabin. When I booked my ressie in March 08, the lovely Dis rep said this is the kind of info they like to have in advance so the cabin can be ready to go on day one. Just give them a call if you need twin beds. They'll mark your ressie and take care of it.

Just keep in mind that there are times when the Stateroom Hosts/Hostesses do not get the message that twins are needed or do not have time to separate the beds before new guests arrive. On our Dec. cruise my father and father-in-law were sharing a cabin. Even though the twin request was noted on the reservation they arrived to find one queen bed. (It threw them for a minute!) Their stateroom host came by and let them know that he hadn't had time to split them before boarding but would do it that evening. When they came back from the show their beds were split. So if it isn't done when you arrive just talk to your host/hostess!

That's actually a really good option that I wouldn't have thought of! Right now we still have a Cat 12 GTY. DD and I got upgraded from CBR to Dolphin for the WDW portion of our Land/Sea :cool1: so I don't know what we'll end up with for a stateroom. That being said, do all categories have convertible sofas?

I sent an e-mail to DCL and requested the bed be twins. The room was done when we arrived :)
