Twice in 1 month?

Can I be so lucky? We might be taking two trips next month, one for 4th of July and another 2 weeks later for my sister's 11th bday. My question to anyone that would like to give me their opinion is....would it be better to stay 6 days on one trip or break it up for 2 3 day trips. Gas isn't an issue because we are carpooling down there with a family member that works in LA. Also, has anyone stayed at the America's Best Value Astoria Inn and Suites?

I am not sure what the right answer is here but I would probably go for one long trip and make a vacation out of it. Spend some time in the parks and spend some time relaxing! July is going to be a crazy month already but I can imagine the crowds will be worse around the July 4th holiday.

(Or at least I am hoping since we are going mid-July!)
