Tween?

When does a child officially become a Tween? Today is my dd's 11th bday and she told me this morning she is officially a Tween now. I told her I thought she'd become a Tween when she turned 12.

Which brings on another question. What the heck is a Tween?

I would say she is a "tween" too. Double digit age but not yet a teenager for a couple of years!

Diane, that would mean she and I both are wrong. I could handle us both being wrong.

LOL! What did SHE say it was? I would say 11 and 12 are definately tweens but 13 is officially a teen.

I think 10, 11, & 12 year olds are "tweens"...not yet teens, but in the doubl digits.

She says since she's 11 today, she's officially a Tween. If a Tween is a double digit, she's been a double digit for a whole year now, so that would mean we're both wrong.

I thought a tween was between 9 and 12. At least that is what my soon to be 9 year old tells me.

Not really though. I don't consider a 10 year old to be a tween.

2-4 preschool
5-8 little kid
9-12 tween
13-18 teen
18 up grownup

ACK, I guess I have a tween too, he will be 11 in May. Better that than a teen, I'm not ready for that yet.

I agree with Disney Doll...10, 11, and 12 are tweens...or at least thats what I thought.
