My 11yr old DD is 5'3" and 95lbs. Where can I find a holiday dress that isn't strapless and thigh-high?

Doesn't need to be super fancy.. would prefer more casual.. and B&M if possible.

what does B&M stand for?

Macys or Bergners usually has good stuff, sometimes Old Navy or Target. maybe try a Forever 21 but they may have too skanky for what youre looking for.

I'm not sure what B&M means (I immediately thought baked beans :lmao:)...but I just checked out Old Navy, they had some cute jersey dresses that look to be maybe knee length? Delia's has cute dresses, too - some with straps and some with a short sleeve.

I took dd12 to Buffalo a couple of weeks ago. We found some nice dresses at Target .

also try Kolh's. I found at that age we went with a skirt and top. It was easier than dress shopping.

We already tried Kohls and ON.. guess we'll hit Target today.

It's sad how hard it is to find something classic for this age group. (Not that I would want my teenager wearing most of what is out there either..)

Yes.. B&M means "brick and mortar".. a store and not online..

If you can't find a dress why not a top and a skirt? I saw cute skirts at Target yesterday. And a simple top would work with the more flashy skirts.

Did you try the jr's department at Kohl's? They have some adorable knit dresses that would be on the casual side that would work well for the Holidays. I always got DD's Christmas dresses from Wooden Soldier but that is online ordering.

It really is hard to find tween/young teen modest dresses. We had to find 4 of them for my DD13 for her youth group dance club series and modest was the necessity. It was hard to find more classic things.

We did have success at Macy's and Delia's, not at Kohl's about a month ago, but now they have some new things that she liked (of course after the fact).

Good luck, I know how hard it is to find just the right thing. Most of what's out there is far from classic or modest.

I found one for my Dd. She is about the same size as yours at JCPEnneys' It took lots of trying on to find one I was comfortable with.

I've got a dd about your dd's size, but a bit taller. She takes a junior size 0. I've had the best luck finding dresses that are stylish, but not trashy, in that size at JCPenney. Most of the places that others have suggested don't carry sizes that small. I also found one or two at Delia's.

We've just started in junior sizes, so I'm not really sure what she'll need. (I swear she grew 4 inches this year.. how I miss The Children's Place..) She wears a 3/4 jean from Aero, but has no chest, so that often is a problem for tops.

There was a dress she loved at Justice, but it was way too fancy, and she didn't fill it out very well.

jcpenny has cute tween dresses that are not too old looking

I have a DD who's about the same size but she's in college so strapless and thigh high is what she's looking for lol! She also has no chest. For a college student she is pretty conservative in what she wears.

We've had luck at Delia's. They have stores maybe they have one close to you. I just looked and they have some dresses that have sleeves on them.

Coincidentally, DD and I were at Target yesterday looking for exactly what the OP is looking for, and did not have much luck - everything in juniors was short and showed a lot of skin. We did find this, which was prettier in person than it is in this photo, it would probably be about knee-length on a 5' 3" girl. My DD needed a cami underneath because the neckline was a little low on her, and would wear it with a pretty cardigan.

I went the skirt & top way. Couldn't find any dresses I liked.
