TWA/AA Phone #

Does anyone have a phone number for TWA or American Airlines for booking flights? I've got an 800 number for each, but I can't even get through to be put on hold - it just tells me that all agents are busy and to call back later. I would book online, but I have some questions that I want to ask a real, live person first.

You can get the 1-800 phone numbers from the TWA web-site. I've also gotten that message before and just had to try back.
