Can anyone shed some light about Tutto Italia?? We are going in December and would love to eat here, however I read somewhere that it is only "temporary." I read that it is going to be renovated and the name is going to change by the time we get there. Is this true?? I have this down as "hopefully" one of my ADR'S but I want to make sure that I know what it is going to be ????? :confused3

Thanks!!!

Hmm I thought that it already changed names...We just ate there in May and it was soo good!! We loved it there!!! I love how they sing happy birthday,it's so cute.

We are going back in October and made an ADr To eat there again...I got some pasta I forget the name but here is a picture..it was the best pasta I ever had..seriously.

:) We also ate there in April and we had a delicious meal. I had also heard that they would be renovating it but I am not sure if it's true. You can always call and make your ADRs and if it will not be open I am sure they will not be taking any reservations for that time. It is worth a try because we loved the restaurant and will be returning again in Oct. Good luck!

I cannot imagine paying those prices for pasta...last I looked it was approx $25 for spag & meatballs....amazing...

We ate there in April and it was out of this world! The manager said there was no plans on shutting it down by the end of the year (for the remodel)

The food is real good, the atmospherer is a bit stuffy with Chandaliers, wall paintings, etc, and the prices are outrageous.

In my opinion this is a great dining plan restaurant since its only 1 TS credit; however, if you pay out of pocket you may leave the restaurant in tears.

We had the DP so we didn't mind...my dish was $24. The dining plan is the best! We always get it so we never feel bad about the prices :)

I 'thought' it was shutting down the end of the summer and reopening as something else during the fall. But that may have changed. I know it was intended to be a temporary replacement when it opened.

I ate there this past December and had one of the best meals of my trip. I ate there again this last trip (May 3rd-10th) and it wasn't so good. The first time I had the nicest waiter and the best service, but the second time I had the worst waiter I've ever had at WDW. He disappeared for the entire meal, having someone else bring all three of my courses, totally ignored me when I was trying to get my water glass refilled, then had the nerve to come over just as another waitress was putting my dessert in front of me, to point blank ask me how I was going to pay his tip. From the time I ordered until he brought me the bill he never once checked on me and every time I caught his eye trying to ask for more water he would just turn his head away. Plus, he brought my bill before I could even take the first bite of my dessert. I was so mad, when I left there!

Oh, I almost forgot, I asked the waiter in Dec about the renovation and he said it had been put on hold indefinitely, as the restaurant was so popular. We have another ADR there for Sept and can't wait, but if I happen to get the same waiter I had in May, I will ask for another waiter and will be telling the manager why.

We'll be dining there this September for lunch, 9-12, so it's open then atleast....

Maybe this was the penne "caprese"... It looks so good....I was planning to try the lasagna but this item really looks too yummy to pass up.

This is just the best food!!! I hated the old restaurant. The alfredo tasted like paste and smelled like feet.

We used our dining plan for this. The desserts are also to die for. This is now my favorite restaurant. I hope it never changes.

I read on all sorts of websites that they were closing in the Spring and reopening this Fall with a new name. I put off booking for August because I figured they would be closed. But everybody else was booking, and everybody was saying how wonderful the food is, so I called and booked for August. They have booked ADRs solid all the way into the late Fall, so if they do close there will be a BUNCH of people who need to be moved.

I don't know if it was just bad luck or what...but my family ate here about two weeks ago and all agreed it was the worst meal of the trip. The food was average-ish at best, but the prices were outrageous and the portions were miniature. We were really looking forward to it because we have heard such great things about it...but it certainly was a HUGE let down. I would not tell anybody to go here!

I think it depends on what you order. When I ate there in December I had a lemon/salmon appetizer, fish with clams, and some sort of gelato, with gingersnaps, fresh berries, and melted chocolate. Everything was sooo good. The chef even brought my fish out himself, told me it was his signature dish, and had me taste it right in front of him, to see if I wanted a little more fresh ground pepper on it. He was so nice!

This past trip in May I had the ham/melon appetizer, pasta with lump crab meat and fresh herbs, and a ricotta cake. The melon was sliced paper thin in small pieces and had absolutely no flavor, the ham was very fatty and salty, the pasta dish I didn't have to ask for the recipe. I can tell you how they made it: boiled pasta in plain water, dumped it on a plate, dumped a can of unseasoned crab meat over it, and cut up a few pieces of fresh basil to put on top for a little garnish. It was nasty and had no flavor. Now the ricotta cake was heavenly:cloud9: . It was the only good part of the meal though. Service in December was fabulous, but in May I had the worst waiter I've ever had at WDW. The two experiences were like night and day.

I'm going back in Sept and plan on ordering the same meal I had in December.

The ham/melon appetizer is actually proscuitto and honeydew. The melon is shaved very thin and proscuitto is salty and has some fat on it. You eat the two together. I loved it at this restaurant. So, it is a matter of taste. I had the pasta and meatballs and it was great. I also had the dessert that is composed of 3 cream puffs filled with vanilla ice cream and then they bring out warm hot milk chocolate and pour it over it. There is another signature dessert that is some kind of Italian cream dessert with berries in it...it is expensive, but delicious. We were on the deluxe dining plan, so the price was not an object for us. Had we paid out of pocket, I would probably not choose this restaurant because it is very expensive. But the food was delicious all 5 times we ate there. DH loved the lasagna. We are an Italian/American family and that may be why we loved it. We grew up on some of those odd combinations they serve. The bread was also great.
But this is just our opinion, and I am sure there are people who don't like the food at all.

We, too, kept reading that it was going to close and a different restaurant was going to open across from it this fall. So we didn't put it on our list. But now we have been hearing sooo many fabulous reviews of this place, and secondhand rumors that it might still be around, should we risk it by making a ressie? or just try it for lunch, which is much easier to get into most times?

I have ADR's for August so I assume that they are open then. I can't wait food looks yummy and sounds good too. However, I am a little worried about the wait staff now..but if they suck then they won't get a very good tip I guess
