Tutto Italia?

Hi, I just had to cancel my ADR's for Coral Reef in May because we're meeting 2 of our friends that night for dinner and they couldn't accommodate 6 people until something like 9pm....Anyway I switched the ADR to Tutto Italia which seemed to be readily available for any time I wanted. (This sort of scared me a little. ) Anyone eaten there recently? I've been trying the search for reviews, but it hasn't been working ...I'd appreciate any help you guys could give me. Thanks!

We've dined there three times since it opened this past Fall and love it. I tried to get a reservation for our coming trip and could only get really late times. I think some people aren't aware of it yet and that might be why you were so lucky.

The reviews have been really good for the most part, I cant wait to try it. I also think that most people just dont know about it yet, Also, it is pricey, so I suspect that people who are not on the dining plan might be staying away.

We just ate there in January and it was very good. They give you bread and oil and crudite and dips for the table so we didn't even have to order appetizers. I ordered the Bucatini Gratinati and it was very good and filling. DH ordered Salmone al forno and said it was excellent. For dessert we ordered the Chocolate Torta because it looked so good coming out of the kitchen but it was very dry and not half as good as it looked and this is coming from a chocolate lover. So I would recommend skipping this dessert and maybe trying a different one instead.

I ate there for the first time this past December and loved it. I'll be dining there again in May and can't wait. I don't remember the real names, but I had a very thin piece of salmon with lemon and capers for an appetizer, fish with clams for an entree, and some sort of pomegranite gelato for dessert. I swear it was the best meal of my trip (and that includes the meal I had a Le Cellier a few nights later).

For some reason I were not thrilled about this place.
Our appetizer was very good we had calamari.
I did not enjoy my salad at all the Insalata Mista, my husband just said his was alright. As far as dinner portions my husband was still hungry when we left and neither one of us enjoyed our meals. I am glad we did not pay oop for this rest. and we will not go back until it changes again.

I really wanted to try this rest. also but my dh is dragging his feet. He lived in Italy for 5 years and he has yet to find Italian food in the states that he can stomach. I told him that Italian food here is probably as good as Italy. Is that stretching the truth?

I would love to try it! Ever since I heard about it, I've been intrigued. Unfortunately, it will probably be gone by the time we get back to the World.

Don't be suspicious of restaurants that are easy to get ADRs at. That doesn't indicate the quality. Some restaurants just seat lots of people. Others are hidden gems.

since TI only opened last year (where alfredo's was), you won't find as many reviews on it.
we had dinner there in oct, just a little while after its "official" opening.
the food was some of the best (if not the best) in most of WDW. offerings were creative, well seasoned, & ingredients were fresh. both atmosphere & food were more "authentic" than many other WDW restaurants (while tony's & mama melrose are good, they are more "olive garden" like ~ not bad, just more "generic"). service was exceptional (note that service was probably influenced by the substantial amount of "suits" roaming the resturant at the time tho ).
we found it very pricey, but an excellent value of just one TS on the DDP (currently).
we do enjoy good italian food (northern italian chefs & restaurant owners in family), & TI comes the closest to the little Italian restaurant in most neighborhoods, or the yummy one in NYC (honestly, TI still misses the mark by a smidge, but certainly the closest we've found to an exceptional restaurant in WDW ~ excluding the obvious (V&A, maybe jiko, & from what i've heard, blue zoo).

I forgot to mention in my above post, a couple was seated right next to me just as I placed my order. They were sortof fussing, at least the man was. Apparently the wife had booked Tutto Italia for their candlelight processional package and he was not pleased. We got to talking and he said they had eaten at Alfredos in the past and didn't like it. I really wanted the appetizer for two, but because I was dining solo on the DDP I couldn't get it, so ordered my salmon. They ordered the appetizer for two. When our appetizers came I was drooling over theirs, when I suddenly noticed the husband drooling over mine. They ate every bite of their appetizer and the husband ate like he was starving. The wife and I both laughed at him. My fish/clam dish arrived and I thought the man was going to dive into it. A few minutes later their pasta entrees arrived and they dug in. The wife was really giving him a hard time. He admitted he was wrong and that he loved Tutto Italia. The wife looked at me and said that coming from him that was a huge compliment because they were from New York and knew good Italian food. The husband laughed and said he had to admit 'this was excellent'. What was really funny is that as he said that, he was gazing longingly at my fish. I laughed and offered him some, at which point he got really embarrassed and said no thank you, his pasta was excellent, but the fish sure looked good. He then laughed and asked his wife if she thought it might be possible to get an ADR again for another night, as he really wanted to try my fish.

To tell you the truth, I don't have a clue. All I know is that it was delicious. The chef brought it out himself, told me it was his specialty and had me taste it in front of him. He then asked me if I wanted more fresh ground pepper on it and proceeded to put some on himself. He was great!

I just went to allearsnet.com and what I ordered was: Carpaccio di Salmona, Fish filet "all 'acqua pazzi", and Copetta Sotto Bosco. Still don't know what kind of fish it was though. Sorry! All I know is that I am eating there in May and again in Sept. I usually want to try different restaurants every trip, but Tutto Italia is a repeater.

DH and I looked forward to trying it there, after loving Alfredo's we were a bit worried.
We were right. Seems that most people are enjoying their meals at the new Tutto.........we didn't and I doubt we'll go back. It was one of the worst meals of our trip.

DH isn't very adventurous so he had the lasagne and I had some noodle dish with a too-runny cream sauce, a handfull of mushy peas and gristly little cubes of proscuitto ham. Very disappointing.

Excellent advice! It been a few years ago but we thought we'd try something different on one trip and choose Canada; found out they had changed it to some sort of steakhouse from a buffet. Well needless to say it immediately became our favorite place in the WS to eat.

New places with no reviews are sometimes a good thing
