Tutto Italia--yay or nay?

We tried it twice. We hated it twice. Won't give it a third chance.

Are there any other suggestion for Italian or other food for next Sunday? We are going there Mothers Day but after the reviews I may try and find somewhere else....

Really crappy, in our experience. The food wasn't good, and the service even worse. Ugh.

I love how different the reviews are! OP...there's only one way for you to find out...you'll have to try it and decide for yourself. :flower3:
Given that there are other places that have more generally positive reviews, probably best to aim for them first, and then try Tutto Italia once you've gotten bored of the others.

Tutto is by far hands down our favorite restaurant at Disney (and that includes the signature restaurants). Out of 21 TS restaurants that we ate at last year Tutto was the BEST!

I've eaten there a few times...and not once did I come out 'raving' about my meal. I actually went because others in my group wanted to eat there, so I went along. But, the food just wasn't 'all that' in my opinion. I actually preferred Alfredo's to Tutto Italia.
I have eaten more times than I can remember in the North End in Boston....Tutto doesn't even come close. But it is WDW..so 'authentic' is going to go just so far.

But, others love it there. My dh went with business associates in Feb..they loved it, he didn't.

We went on the DxDP last year for 8 nights and Tutto was hands down the favorite of all 6 (4a, 2c) in our party. My husband's grandparents are from Sicily, and he said it is the most authentic (like his Grandmother's) Italian food he has had. He had the veal ravioli and it was delicious, the kids pizzas were HUGE, fresh, and probably some of the best pizza we have had (besides his Grandmother's, of course ;)). The tiramisu was heaven.... This is the only restaurant DH requested for our trip this October. He said we could eat every lunch and dinner there. :thumbsup2

All the restaurants get mixed reviews, I say use a TS credit and go for it! :goodvibes

We ate here 3 times as Alfredo's, and twice as Tutto. We actually really liked Tutto, and went back on our DM. We wait for the patio, enjoy a bellini, take in the sunset...It's beautiful! Being from NY we eat quite a bit of authentic Italian cuisine, and we happen to have found our choices very authentic and well prepared. The salads and antipasto are always fresh, and the pastas are delicious. DH loves limoncello after his meal as well. Then we stroll over and catch Illuminations...A perfect evening. We love it!

I've read mixed reviews on Tutto (and yes, I know, you get mixed reviews on any restaurant.) We love Italian food in our family and recognize there are varying levels of food, i.e. Olive Garden v. the North End in Boston.

We're on the DDP, so it being overpriced isn't a concern to us. Any thoughts? (Our ADR is for dinner, not lunch.)

Thank you,
Meredith

OMG that is so funny I was thinking the same thing. We are going to try Tutto in July. Last time we did Coral Reef and Akersaus. My MIL always talks about Italy so I figured between all the character meals that we make her go to this will be a meal for her. I know last time we went I kept reading the reviews on the Hollywood & Vine. I did that one so we could get into Fantasmic. I think where the reviews were so bad my expectations were at an all time low... But, the seven people in our group never complained.

It is pretty authentic italian and I'm from & live in NYC. We've now eaten there twice, the second time last week, and the food is very good and the service is excellent. We plan to go again in November. The calamari app was very good & eggplant app were excellent. The entrees were very good too.

Another NYer here who has many Italian experiences(many Italian friends and Italian restaurant owners as clients) and I think the food is pretty good and authentic.

If you want chicken parm and spaghetti and meatballs this is not for you, it is more authentic Italian cuisine not italian american. We have always had good service as well. IS it my favorite restaurant in the WDW...no I wouldn't go there but I thought it was pretty good for WDW Italian.

We are going to Tutto on May 13th. The veal ravioloi and tiramisu.....sounds great, will have to definitely consider both!

Sandy

This is a must do for our family every year. We will be going again May 8th. Have always enjoyed our service and meals.

Tutto is a YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2
So good and very well worth speaking from an Italian . This is no Olive Garden.

Hey Roe!!!! Imagine seeing you here!! It's Linda from facebook! :rotfl: I'd know that doggie pic anywhere! So cute!! :goodvibes
Yes.....Tutto is a good choice! I like it better than Tony's in MK.

Hi Lin, we love Tutto. A must do every trip. So good. I tell everybody to go here.

First time DH went, in Oct. the food was just OK. We were not really impressed with the veal scallapini (sp?). This past March we did a walk up for lunch. We had a quaint little table on the patio and really enjoyed our meal. We ordered a nice bottle of wine, in addition to the meatballs ( for me) and the lasagna ( for DH). The food was actually really good and the service was great. We would definantly try it again.

So far the count is 11 nays, 14 yays. I still maintain that it's worth trying and forming your own opinion.

I suppose I can agree with that if you are going to be eating at a lot of Epcot restaurants during the course of your vacation. But if this is your one trip to WDW for a few years, and you're only going to be able to do a couple of sit-down meals at Epcot, then why "try" a restaurant that has such a bad breakdown between "nays" and "yays"? There are other restaurants at Epcot, and even at the Epcot resorts, that have more uniformly positive reviews.

Good point Bicker. I wonder what the OP is leaning towards??

Hey OP...come back and tell us...
