The big surprise trip is this Sun - Mon - Tues...

LOOKS LIKE RAIN! We're from the NW, so I am not really that worried about rain. Last time it rained at Disney everyone left and we had the park to all to ourselves!

But I am wondering how to pack... long pants and long sleeves? Any short sleeves? Sweatshirts/sweaters or actually brign our real rain jackets?

It's been a few years since we were at Disney with rain.

Last year at this time I was excited for the cooler weather Christmas experience and we ended up having highs in the 80's... I was really hot in long pants and had to buy DS short sleeve shirts so he wouldn't roast!

We are going next week too. We are from Oregon, so rain doesn't bother us :). Although I've been watching the weather for awhile and I was hoping that thee wouldn't be any rain. (but secretly, I'm ok with it - hopefully the rain will keep the locals away and us NW'ers will have all the rides :cool1:)

We are packing a few pairs of long pants and some capris. It still looks to be in the 60s and that is a heat wave for us right now.

We leave in 12 days and I've been preparing for this just in case. Of course, we are from Washington also, so we would be fine with it. We all have waterproof winderbreakers with hoods to throw over sweatshirts and I'm also packing our portable boot dryers in case shoes get wet. I am not packing rain boots. I have read some threads in the past about that. Forget it. Too much. LOL

Of course we always love the sun, but we are at DL at Christmas. I think I can handle it either way. Have a great trip!

Oh boo.... I'm from Oregon as well but was hoping for nicer weather than up here... nothing can be as bad as the 20 degree weather we had in Florida last year though. :lmao:

Just a heads up- being an Anaheim local- it has been VERY windy (Santa Ana Winds season) lately.

The mornings and evenings are quite chilly- and the air is very dry.

Also, it gets dark pretty early (5pm-ish), so expect temperatures to drop significantly around that time. It was 45 degrees this morning when I drove to work.

Meanwhile, the temperature at the parks is always more comfortable for some reason. Might be the enclosed atmosphere or the "magic"- either way, I'd come prepared for winds.

Have a great trip, otherwise! Hopefully all the APers stay home!

I live here in SoCal and the rain only lasts for a couple of hours at most. Bring your sweaters and you will be fine!

It was pretty chilly Wednesday and Thursday night. As soon as the sun went down, the temperature went with it. If it's actually raining and overcast, it could be a little warmer. I am super sensitive to cold and got a little bit of sunburn on Wednesday followed by the very early stage of frostbite that night. And I was wearing leather walking shoes with a wool blend hiking sock. I suggest LAYERS. LOL

Layers are definitely key ! Even up in the bay area walking to work i've had to adjust due to the windier season and cooler weather. My usual layering - looks something like this : Long sleeve shirt/turtleneck - Tshirt/top - Long sleeve pullover/zipper fleece - lightweight coat for extra warmth. My husband and I are going to invest in a locker this year so we can store the coats until it gets dark and carry around our hoddies/pullovers during the day. Also scarves are a great lightweight way to keep warm too and are easily removed and stored in bags.
